Welcome back to the Football Italia channel. I'm Lorenzo Bettini again with you from Coverciano. What I've just attended Italy's last training session before their opening Nations League game against Belgium. Let's find out the latest news. >> [music] [music] >> So, only the opening 15 minutes were open to the media as usual on Tuesday minus one. The session began with uh speech of Roberto Mancini to the team and then he spoke to the other Mancini in the team, Gianluca Mancini, who is expected to start tomorrow against Belgium. And I would say he's expected to be the leader of the defense as well because Giorgio Scalvini didn't train with the team on Tuesday for precautionary reasons. He then resumed training with the rest of the team on Wednesday and was regularly on the pitch today. So, Scalvini is available, but he's not expected to start because there are four games in this break, so Mancini wants to make sure that everyone is fit through this break. And so, Mancini and Diego Coppola are expected to start at center back. But Mancini, Roberto, the coach, first spoke to the whole team and then focused on Mancini just explained briefly explaining some movements that he'll have to make. Then, once the media left the training session, the more uh a more in-depth tactical training has begun behind closed doors. Goalkeepers trained a little bit on saves, trained on distributions as well, passing the ball to each other during the warm-up. And then there was there were a few drills to test intensity in the pressing, but also accuracy in the passes. days. were a few drills to test the Azzurri players on these two specifics in the opening 15 minutes open to the media. Again, uh obviously, we couldn't see much about the tactical tests from Roberto Mancini, but what we've been reporting from here Coverciano over the last few days remains true. And I'm saying that, uh obviously, the goalkeeper will be Gigio Donnarumma. The doubt on the right is between Di Lorenzo and Kayode, but Di Lorenzo is actually favorite over the Brentford defender. The The two center-backs are expected to be Coppola and Mancini with Calafiori as a um left-back. The only change from this defense could be A handful starting on the left and Calafiori starting in place of Coppola, but right now I would say that Calafiori is favorite to start and will start as a left-back. The three midfielders Alessandro Romano making his first appearance for the Italian national team, Nicolò Barella, and Sandro Tonali. Davide Frattesi is the other box-to-box midfielder tried on the left by Roberto Mancini these days, but he's expected to start on the bench and begin against Turkey next week for the second Azzurri game, which will be played away in Turkey. A bit more doubts in attack, not so much about the center forward because that is going to be Francesco Pio Esposito. On the right, there are Zaniolo, Cambiaghi, and Vergara, and it's still not 100% sure who will start. Personally, again, I would say Zaniolo, but I also feel Vergara has a fair chance of starting. For the left-wing position, there are four options in Asio, Zoma, Maldini, and Raspadori. What I think right now is Maldini or Raspadori will start on that position with Zoma and or Inacio introduced later in the game. But again, the training session is ongoing. Mancini will hold a press conference from Rome today along with an Italian player, an Italian national team player. So, still plenty to know, still plenty to report on because the training session is ongoing, but as usual, we'll be following all the latest updates not here, not just here on the channel, but on the Football Italia website as well. So, check it out for all the latest news and information. A new video tomorrow right after the game right from the Stadio Olimpico in Rome after Italy's game against Belgium. We'll talk again tomorrow. Grazie.
