FIVE-GOAL THRILLER | Türkiye v USA | 2026 World Cup EXTENDED HIGHLIGHTS
Türkiye 3-2 USA: Güler shines in five-goal thriller as USA miss out on perfect group stage
The video recaps the final Group D match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup between Türkiye and the USA. The USA took an early lead through Trusty, Güler equalised, Türkiye went ahead, Berhalter equalised again, and Türkiye struck late to win 3-2 and hand the co-hosts their first defeat of the tournament.
- Güler's equaliser was outstanding — He produced a little body swerve, Yılmaz supplied a brilliant reverse pass, and Güler's touch and finish were very accurate.
- Türkiye's second goal was high quality and the USA had no answer — Güler was heavily involved in the build-up and Türkiye reacted quickly in the box to stab the ball home.
- Güler is a free spirit and a real natural talent who plays his own way — His control and movement make it look as if he and the ball are meant to be together.
- Berhalter's equaliser was a great strike with eye-catchingly good technique, and Türkiye were again troubled by a set piece — He kept a low half-volley through bodies and Çakır saw it late because of the quality of the strike.
- Çakır's save was incredible — He stretched to get his fingertips to the ball and turned it onto the post.
- Güler was outstanding and showed wonderful, childlike skill; Türkiye's late winner felt inevitable because Montella's side kept pushing — Güler set things up from an impossible situation and was involved in the winner, while Türkiye kept pushing late on.

FOR TURKEY. >> [cheering] >> ORKUN KOKCU PUTS MONTELLA'S SIDE in front. High quality. USA with no answer. Well, and of course Guler was heavily involved. First that little ending pass. And then when the ball was played in by Abdulmalik he reacts quickly to stab it towards goal. Kokcu It's a very brief VAR check. Officials deciding there was nothing wrong with that. Guler felt he was held. Referee agreed by Trusty. In pitch Arda Guler Yeah, don't get too close. He can do that to you. He's a free spirit, isn't he? Guler plays his own way. Real natural talent. You can just see him and the ball they're just meant to be together. Orkun Kokcu Turkey are going in search of stretching their lead. Up goes Yilmaz. Turkey are looking for the corner. Corner has been given. They're asking for a a bit more as well. Here comes another Turkey counter attack. Skelly, the right back, out of position. A little bit of movement as well on that. >> Well, Çakır can handle it. >> A little deflection, didn't it? >> [cheering] >> And he wins the initial header. And Auston Trusty I think he'll be crossing himself he didn't keep the header down. >> Oh, cuz he gets up well. Kenty with little or no effort with a long throw. Oh, yes! What a great hit! And what a moment! FOR SEBASTIAN BERHALTER! The midfielder of Vancouver Whitecaps >> [cheering] >> levels it up at 2-2. >> Again, it's a set piece that caused them issues, Turkey. But take nothing away from Berhalter. He keeps this low on the half volley. Skins it on the surface. Through bodies. Çakır sees it so late and he can't get there because of the quality of the strike from Reynault. >> Yeah, the technique was eye-catchingly good. >> First involvement for Pulisic. Reyna Lovely ball in behind and they react well. Turkey needed to. Zeki Celik >> Yeah, lovely wasn't it from Reyna? Just a lift this in towards >> Pulisic who takes it down well. >> Celik, I think he does excellent to get across. >> Beautiful pass and they're in. CAN HE DELIVER? NO, CAKIR WITH THE SAVE. Teasing ball in. Oh, and Cakir stretching to deal with it. And last ditch defending from Turkey. Only a corner for the USA. Could so easily have been 3-2. >> Well, incredible, wasn't it? Cakir >> [cheering] >> stretches just to get fingertips onto it. Onto the post. >> [cheering] >> Yildiz Oh, goes for it. And it was close. >> Well, he had a real idea in his mind, didn't he? As he drove towards the penalty area to shift this onto his right foot and bend it towards the far corner. Matt Turner stretching away to his left. Pulisic, he'll have a GO FROM THERE. AND IT MISSES BY A WHISKER. WELL, HE WAS just slipping, wasn't he, as he took the strike. Nice flick into THE PATH OF YILMAZ. CAN HE GET CLEAR NOW? STILL IN THERE. AND A MISKICK. JUST OFF BALANCE. But the relief of Austin Trusty, who was struggling to stay with Yilmaz for a split second or two. Oh, impish skills. Had to be Güler, isn't it? From an impossible situation there. Good cross. Chance for the winner for Turkey. And there it is. What a finale. Well, Güler, I mean, outstanding. Childlike skill. Güler that set things up, and then when it fell, I Han was there. Güler with wonderful skill. And Achan with the first shot blocked. And then he slides in to finish. Well, it always felt that was going to be an extra goal in the match. Vincenzo Montella side pushed and pushed later on. Warm embrace with Mauricio Pochettino. The Turkey go home with a win in their final Group D game. First defeat for the USA at the FIFA World Cup 2026. All the criticism that had come their way. Turkey they were determined to produce tonight.
