ESPN FC Extra Time on Vinicius' red card, Henderson and Bellingham

This Extra Time episode uses quick questions to cover Vinicius' and Ben's red cards, whether Jordan Henderson could solve Liverpool's midfield, how to react to 16% possession, and Bellingham's resurgence at Real Madrid. The overall take is that Vinicius' red card was worse, Henderson is too old to fix Liverpool's midfield, and Bellingham is back to his best through improved fitness and confidence.

Welcome into the latest edition of Extra Time. Craig and Frank are here. Before we get into Extra Time, here's a little bit of Frank enjoying the show today, enjoying the segments of the show. >> No, no. A >> What's the cat's name? >> That's Miami. That's Miami. Uh we got it in uh we got him in in Miami. We found him. He was like 6 weeks old and we brought him back to France. He speaks French. He speaks very well French. [laughter] >> I hate cards. Questions. >> Okay. Questions. >> Questions. Not >> whose red card was more stupid, Vinnie or Ben? >> Uh Venicious. [music] >> Frank. >> I agree. Venicious. Yeah, I agree. [music] Venicious. Yeah. Could Jordan Henderson have solved Liverpool's midfield problem? >> No. >> Frank, >> no. Because I think he's uh he's a bit too old to play the all season long. So therefore, you know, I want to believe that if he can serve Chelsea and um and help the the locker room, uh the coach will have will have to be clever and not play him every game. >> If you guys were managers, what would be your game day fit? [music] You see everything these days from tracksuits to street wear to tailored suits. What would you wear? >> Uh I'm I'm a little bit in between. Dress pants, decent pair of shoes, maybe a shirt and a fitted a fitted sweater. >> Shan, [music] so >> yeah. >> Yeah, >> maybe. Yeah, >> Frank, >> I will be with a suit, but I think I will be able to um No tie for sure. Maybe a shirt underneath or maybe a t-shirt with a the V V-neck, but yeah, [music] classy but no too straight. >> In Spain, I can't get my In Germany, I think other I can't [music] get my head around uh managers turning up with like like denims. Just can't get my head around that. [music] >> No, not about that. It's not. It's like you're going down >> slippery slope. >> No, you're going down the pub, aren't you? You got anyway, out east of the road. >> Frank, what would you say if your team's plan in the first half was to have 16% possession as Hafe did today? >> Uh guys, we carry on, you know, we can we cannot do worse than that. So, [laughter] no, we, you know, show some pride, you know, try to do better and and wake up because otherwise you're going to be punished. >> Bellingham remains Madrid's most consistent [music] and best performing player this year. What's changed in his game, Craig, from last year when he seemed to have had an off year? >> Well, he looks fitter. He looks leaner. He had a great World Cup for England. I mean, he was brilliant. [music] Uh, I I thought I might be wrong. I don't know if the shot across the boughs from from Thomas Tukul about his attitude allegedly about attitude about how he fits in the dressing room about his place in the team for England that is I don't know if that spurred them on almost like a two fingers up and he went out in the summer and he really carried that England team as far as as they went and for Real Madrid he's taken that on but don't forget at times under Ancelott in particular he was getting moved from pillar to post. So, I don't I don't think that helped him, but he looks just as if he's got all his confidence back and he's got that swagger back which he kind of he had kind of lost a little bit and he looked like he was getting a a very frustrated player almost Vinnie with referees and stuff and it was I think kind of putting him off his game a little bit but he looks he looks back to the player that first signed for [music] Real Madrid when he had that first six months of the season when he was pretty much unstoppable with the goals. How is everyone's paper plane making skills and that includes you 2K? Well, we saw [music] yours tonight. >> Oh, well that was a quick version only because Sid was waffling on and Sid gave us the short version of that Ry Via story. >> I wonder what the the long one was. He said I'll just get I won't go into the long one. >> I won't go into the long one. I'll go into the short long winding one. It's not as long as the >> There's prank prank. >> I've actually been making friends this week. I still did need a material to remind >> there was the other side to that scenario [music] as well is how many people actually really cared if the riva kind of game was called off or not. >> I would imagine it's slim >> apart from the fact if you live in that area. >> Yep. >> I get I get it. I get it. The story >> Franks ain't great. Mine are decent back at home, but I did need a tutorial. I've got a five and a six-year-old at home. [music] I don't have that tutorial with me right now. So, >> yeah, I'll bring them in next time. And we don't want to get the show abandoned though by throwing them three times. So I'll refrain. >> I said we're going to abandon and waffles on with that. >> We're not waffling on. That's all we've got time for on the latest edition of Extra Time. [music] Thank you so much for sending in your questions. Short and sweet.
