Will Endrick be the biggest benefactor of Vinicius Junior's suspension? | ESPN FC Extra Time
ESPN FC Extra Time weighs whether Vinicius Jr.'s suspension can benefit Endrick, plus Premier League rotation complaints
The panel debates whether Real Madrid erred in renewing Vinicius Jr. and whether Endrick can seize his chance during the suspension. They also push back on Premier League complaints about PSG resting players, then assess Newcastle's relegation risk.
- A young player should choose Barcelona over PSG — PSG produce young players, but it is very hard to break into and stay in the first team; at Barcelona it seems an option and a possibility.
- Real Madrid made a mistake by giving Vinicius Jr. a new contract — They have not seen the best version of Vinicius for two or three years, and you do not give a long contract on hope to a player not performing well.
- Endrick could be the biggest beneficiary of Vinicius Jr.'s suspension — If given the opportunity, he can play his way into the team; if the coach picks others first, there is not much else he can do.
- Premier League clubs should stop complaining about PSG resting key players before Champions League games — Ligue 1 is not at the Premier League's level and PSG are the exception in France; similar advantages existed for Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona and AC Milan; Arsenal and Manchester City have enough money to buy two teams, so deal with it.
- Arteta is the one Premier League manager who cannot complain about rotation — He regularly rotates his front three and midfield three and changes his team when things go badly; with his resources and players, complaining about anyone else is ridiculous.
- He is not worried about Newcastle's Premier League survival — He said at the start of the season that Newcastle looked at best a mid-table team and stands by that; he does not think they could be relegated.

Welcome in to the latest edition of Extra Time. Shakaran Stevie with the studio. Frank, where are you? You're not in your usual spot. >> And now I'm I'm in the city of Jon of Fak in Olon where she was born. And uh I have a conference tomorrow. So I had to come because it's an early conference tomorrow morning. >> Oh, very nice. Frank >> and Ste's here with us. That's a true professional. He >> is a true professional. >> I love you to see your power ranking. Frag said we've lost Shaka. >> This was a This was a top 10 that didn't have PSG in it. >> As a young player, if you had the option, Stevie, to go to PSG or Barcelona, where would you go? >> That's a tough one. >> It's a good question to start off. It is. I'll go Barcelona while Stevie's taking a penalty over there. >> Yes. >> I'll just say I I go Barcelona. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Me, too. >> I think Barcelona. >> Barcelona. Okay. All right. Frank, they both hate France. >> Frank said me too already. I I I say I say me too because I think Paris Jan they put out many many young players but not too many except lately like D whatever bakola as well but they come from Leon some other places they're still young but it's very hard when you come to Paris jame to get out and to stay in the first team where it seems to be an option and a possibility for Barcelona it's why I I think I think I will go to Barcelona Did Real Madrid make a mistake in giving Venicious Jr. a new contract, Frank? He seems to be more of a liability than a positive. Positive. >> No. Yeah, it's a mistake because we have seen not the best version of Venus Jr. for what, two, three years now. So, I don't know when he signed his contract. I think just lately. So yeah, it's a mistake because you only sign a a longer contract to a player would give very good performances which is not the case. So we are just signing on on hopes and uh it doesn't work like that. So yeah, it's a mistake for me. >> Will Hendrick be the biggest benefactor of Venicious Junior suspension, Stevie? Does Mourinho have to find a way to get Hendrick on the pitch and give him consistent minutes? >> Well, it's it's it's a possibility. Uh, and if I'm Hendrick, I'm absolutely thinking this is my chance. >> Um, you know, as much as I said that in the show that, you know, Vinnie's in the position he's in because of Vinnie, well, Hendrick's got the chance now to put himself in this team, clearly if he's given the opportunity, you know, if if if Marine decides to go with Diamande or or Gul first, then if you're Enrich, then I I don't know what else you can do. So, but yeah, this is an a definite possibility that he can play himself in the team. >> Frank, what do you make of the claims made by fans and coaches Artetta Moresca of Premier League clubs about them not having the same luxury as PSG of resting key players in league matches before Champions League match days because of how competitive the Premier League is. And my my question would be what PI can do about that and what anybody else can do about that. You are uh you have the chance to be in the best league in the world. I'm teasing sometimes you know especially now where I said you know can you imagine if my city can lose that way against Paris only six in the league. What would happen to them? It would have they would have played Monaco or somebody just after Monaco because Paris is not the best team in France right now. But the league one is not at the level of the Premier League for sure and uh it's part of the deal and you know that and u and Paris is the exception to the rule in France. So uh yes they can rest players and good for them and it's been like that but I think I asked Amsterdam at the time in the 70s I was the same. What about Bayern Munich? We can say the same. So uh before for like I don't know two decades it was only Real Madrid or Barcelona and it was Milan AC Milan or nobody else. So it can happen in some era and good for the club that it happens but stop complaining. You are Arsenal. You're Manchester City. You have the money that you need to buy two teams. So deal with that. >> If there's one manager in the Premier League who can't complain, it's Arteta. How can he possibly complain? We We watch him week in and week out bringing off the front three bringing off the middle three. He he completely and utterly changes every facet of his team when when things are not quite going well. He just takes one load out and puts another load in. How can anybody anybody with with the resources that he's got, the players he's got complain about anybody else? That that's ridiculous. >> I concur. >> Check us back. That was that was a short trip. >> Final question. Mhm. Is Shaka worried? >> What in general >> about Newcastle's Premier League survival after the commentary defeat? >> No. >> Oh, I said >> you were bad. >> I said yeah. Yeah, >> but I said at the start of the season start of the season that Newcastle looking like a at best mid-table team and I stand by that. I don't think they could be relegated. So short answer, no, I'm not at all worried. Look at me. I'm not worried at all. >> You're not. We I don't I've seen you worry, Shaq, to be honest. >> I've known you for 16 years. There's ever been a >> Can we say Shak what we are very worried about you? >> I'm not worried about me, Frank. I'm not worried at all. >> Good for you. Good for you, coffee guy. >> And that's it everyone. >> Is it? >> And that is Thank you very much. Uh Frank, good luck at your conference tomorrow. >> Thank you. >> ESPN. No, >> I'm going to talk about myself, so it's going to be okay. ESPNFC returns tomorrow. Uh, yes. Watch it. >> Sh. I'm here. >> If anyone give Shakra a lift to the airport really sharpish tomorrow.
