Come on, get off. La shel. Hey, let Welcome back to Bundesliga 2 football and just before the international break, Darmmstad were demolished 5-1 at Volsborg but they won the first match of the season before that here at home a 2-1 win against Berfeld and today the visitors are Energy Cobbos who were recently promoted back to Bundesliga 2 after being away for 13 years. Well, they collected a point at home against Sed Powi before the break and are undefeated in the last three games. They also know how to score goals. Only the top two sides, Hera and Nuenberg, have netted more times than any 14 this term. And this could be another one of those games that promises goals with matches involving Cotbus. There have been 27 of them so far and that in the first six rounds of Bundesliga 2 football. Well, it doesn't happen all too often that two German professional football clubs face each other for the very first time, but that is the case this afternoon. It's match day seven. Welcome to Darmmstat versus Enig Copos, a fixture that they've never had before. My name is Gary Preston and welcome here. The atmosphere is fantastic here at the Mark Me Stadium Ambulan Valour, the home of Darmstat, Dillian, the Lilies as they're known. They simply have to get back somehow to winning ways. They are rock bottom of the table right now. At this stage last season, they were right up there at the top. So here the lineup for the Lilies and the head coach Florian Kfeld who had just turned 44 5 days ago. There are two changes to that side for Donstat that lost 5-1 against Volsborg. William Migl brones comes in. It's his uh first ever start this season. He replaces Christopher Lat who is not available today. Also in is Marco Richa. He goes into the right hand side. Carlos Siginga is another player who's not available here this afternoon. So Nicholas Feryan is the man who was in that Rrista position last time. He moves into that midfield alongside Kai Clayfish in what appears to be a double six. Here the lineup for Klaus Ta the man they call pellet volit the head coach from Energy Kbos in front of goalkeeper Lodka. No changes in that back line. They've kept that one and they are going to see if they can keep a clean sheet here this afternoon away at Darmstat. But there is one change to the team that fought well at home against Sank Powi who were recently regated from the Bundesliga but came away with just one point. That changes Christian Kinzi who comes in for Lucas Culpo who has to return to the bench up front. Justin Butler is a striker they call a 9 and a half striker. Justin Butler. And he's found his scoring booths. Three goals already in this first six games of this season. The players waiting to come out of the catacombs here of the mechan 17,800 and a few more when it's fall to the brim. Some fantastic scenes before the start of the game. Crowd really excited. They're still behind their team and behind that man Pellet the 61y old. He is the head coach man that came 2009 returned to Cockbus after leaving them back again in 2016 has had various roles with the club he is basically Mr. Cogbos Mr. energy >> and despite the fact that his team have been performing quite well to be honest, they've got double the amount of points than Damster and Sterling was not happy with the performance from Enigi against S Powi the week before. They could have had all three points. They let that slip towards the end of the game and on a couple of other occasions as well. He reckoned that his team could have taken more points and had them on the board at this stage of the season and still it's been an excellent season. The team that just came up out of the third tier after being away for 13 years. So the situation in the table at the moment is they are currently seventh. Gstad are 18th >> but there's only four points difference between that position and the bottom of the table. It's getting very tight at the moment here after the first six rounds of Bundesliga 2 football. And it remains to see or to be seen how long Copels can keep up this energy that they have been producing >> and whether they can do it again here today from home in Dharma. >> Yeah, smiling faces all getting ready for this game here today in Darst. Like I said, the scenes before were tremendous. all jumping up and down and it's not to be expected that the Lilies are feeling confident at the moment, but you can see those faces here. They are truly right behind their team. It's been a difficult transition this season for Florian Kofel. Lost a lot of good players. the most prolific attacking players from last season that they had as well. Isak Litberg, Fraser Hornby and Kian Corridor have all gone. They lost some very good defenders as well. And maybe that might be part of the problem that they've been having trying to find that rhythm here on the right hand side. Gloria Kofones just turned 44. Great respect with Claus Tera Volitz. Not many call it Claus ter I think his mom. Number 32, >> Marco. Sorry, opposite number to Marco. Number 32, Leonardo Biten Court. The man who came back again to the club where he he was born when his father Franklin was playing here. He played here too and came back on a free at the start of the campaign. Everybody went wild. Everyone was full of hope that bitter court can do something for this team. Energy Cotbus again. He's 32 years of age now. Just before Christmas, he'll be turning 33. But he has been producing the goods so far. two wonderful assists during the course of his six matches. He's played every game, but it's his presence on the pitch that has been so important, I think. and playing in that central midfield role alongside the youngster the 21-year-old Lucas Miklbrink has been a great asset for Middlbrink as well who said recently that I'm learning so much from Leo Leonardo bit and I think we've seen that during the course of his six matches when he's played as well so something is starting to move I think for the Copos faithful They'll be playing in the black strip here today. D Butler for Cotbos scored in back-to- back games. Now, Justin Butler, the American who was born in Algsborg, possesses both of those passports. He'll be starting up front on his own today. Referee's Justin Hazman and he's ready to go. >> So, welcome back to Bundesliga 2 after the international break. It's match day seven of this season. My name is Kerry Preston. It is dop stats on a Saturday afternoon at home at the Madan and Bulanfal facing FC Energy Copus the team that surprised everybody moving back into the second tier last season finishing second behind Osnner Brook who also came up and they find themselves in an excellent position at the moment. They already have double the amount of points that Dmstad have. They have just four points so far to their name. They need another three here today. So Homestat hometown. Darkstat on the right in blue. Visitors got bus in black having to defend now. That's a good ball. Couldn't quite get hold of it there. Yeah, OJ Lee. Lovely ball forward for him, but maybe just a little too much of a stretch. Kofeld from the touch line explaining that. That's one way of doing it. Alexander Vauic the Serb had a bit of a topsy turvy single season so far. >> Sometimes playing well, sometimes playing rather bad. He's had been sent off for a straight red card this season as well. on the left hand side. Alex Borman, the captain, the left wing back. Well, always been moving forward. Quite attacking minded, attacking minded. He was actually very often the left midfielder. Little shoving the back there from the right back Henry Rodick. >> Picked up quickly in midfield by Clayfish. Distributing ball well. Dar come forward. That's a bit too far again here. This time for Milan Smith. He scored the only goal for Darmstat. Last time out away from home at Volsborg. It was a yeah 5-1 bashing on that day. They were never really in the game. Having said that, Volsorg one of those sides that could be the favorites to go back up against certainly at the moment. One of those teams that is a LOVELY POSITION TO SCORE FROM. AND HE'S DONE IT AGAIN. NOT ONLY IN BACKTO BACK GAMES WHEN MAKING IT THREE IN A row for Justin Butler. and his fourth goal of the season. >> My goodness, the youngster is absolutely on fire right now. And again, Votic guilty of not being with him, but he took it well, Butler, didn't he? Lovely ball in there Frankenzi but his control was wonderful but the composure magical getting the better of Marel Schuan. Lovely strike here from Justin Butler. Visitors Cogles take the lead as early on as just coming into the fourth minute. Well, the club head coach Pelletz did say that he's he's not surprised. A lot of uh reporters have been saying that they're surprised that Justin Butler is scoring so many goals at the moment. And I'll come back to that later because here come Dalmstat now attempting to reply. Nik Brones from the right hand side the French right wing back. Like I said at the start of the C commentary, the first start for him this season. Patrick Fifer. See how a lot of supporters were surprised, but I still can't get that away because here they come. >> Not bad from Lisha, >> but not on target. He was on loan from Mines to Darmstat last season. Went back to Mines and somehow Darmstat managed to obtain his services again. So when asked Pella Bollitz, are you surprised about Butler fighting in scoring boots? He said, "No, I knew he was going to do that." Because it's I think it's better for him in the second tier than in the third division for him to score goals. The type of striker he is, he only managed two goals in 29 appearances last season in the third tier in that promotion season. And his boss there, Pella Vollet, knew the Butler would start well and he has done. He scored on the first match day against Hanover, the winner in that 3-1 victory. And now he's scored in back-to- back games in on three separate occasions. Starting the last four now and absolutely on form. That opening goal was a joy to watch. So that is now 14 goals now 15 goals in total that they've scored. Only Hatterer and Newberg have been better. 11 of those goals now have been scored from open play. >> Team to be reckoned with. Cogus. Certainly a blistering start here. Was that a foul? It was on King Manu. >> Referee was there. Smith tries to get away from the crime scene. Yeah, that was just too much. That was a challenge not for the ball but just for the man. >> Bit of frustration there from Milan Smith. He did score a goal for Darmat last time out but otherwise he's had one of those up and down seasons as well so far in his previous five games. Vice out. That's a foul there too. >> The referee at the moment keeping a calm face. Justin Hman or Hman Cottage 5 foot. Oh, bit of a chase there. Marco did get there but could not keep it in. thought that he might have had a throw in there. King Mano back to Roic. Hanaman can't afford to lose that possession there. Was picked up though by Leonardo. Bitten caught fires the pass here for Komi. Not the perfect pass from Kinsi. Had bodies in the box. Tolchi was in a good position. Fifer laid off from Smith but given away by Smith. counterattacking and the goalkeeper Shuan had to get down quickly there. Playfish going to spot a bother. Sigachi and Clayfish, two players that, let's put it this way, like to get involved. But if you keep a smile on your face like that. Yeah, exactly. It's the energy and the power that you have before a game and you're fighting for everything. But if you can do that at the end of the day, then you can still say stay friends. Well, at least after the game. Oh, so I think the referee's got to that stage already now. here after what 12 minutes played where he has to make quite sure that all the players on the pitch know that he is the boss and he's the man that makes the decisions. Look at her line. We'll have to get involved here and take that away from Lee. All in from Clayfish, away from Manu. Back again from Fifer Cottage Fifer. Good running. Oh, that is promising. Bounce on a second bite and the cherry doesn't go in. Peter court having words here with Lee reckons that he's play acting. Let's have a look for ourselves. That's a good run for middle bosses. And then was there any kind of contact there? Referee sends bitter away. He didn't see anything. All's good. watching that again. Yeah, it was bit of archibi going on between those two, >> but I loved the way they said sorry afterwards. Manu given why he's been so good this season. Manu in a pillar of strength only 22 years of age now Roick challenge celebrated there by that's the kind of determination that the Dstrat faithful like to Hey from Okatic. speak to Blink the number eight alongside Bitten Gort in that midfield. One of those players I think who's got a very good future in front of him. Here they come again. COPS LAID OFF ON THE PLATE. WHAT APPEARED TO BE AN OPEN goal there for security and he knows it. Very disappointed with himself there. cuz that once again was lovely work from Energy. That was almost an open goal here. He had to guide that past the goalkeeper but fluffed his lines. Sigchi Smith can't control the ball. man on loan from Stoke City at the moment. Milan Smith wants to prove himself, but he has scored twice this season, but not always been on top of his game. Throwing for Peta to swap swapped to the left hand side there. Vice helped move to the right. I didn't know a vice helped up to this part of the season so far has possibly been Dmst's best player. That is Noah Vice out. He came from Fryborg at the start of the campaign and Darstat supporters loving him already. Free kick one will take as Mano organizes that defense for compos here. >> Well, the ball was good and high but could not find anyone wearing blue and the referee saw an infringement there as well. Anyway, for Nicholas Fcoyen airline. That's another one of those very talented youngsters. Played all three internationals in October by the way for the under 20s for his country Germany. On the ball again. It's the calmness that I like about him as well. >> Excellent passer of the ball. >> Aggressive in a positive way. Rooric Marcel Lotka airline. deliberately just taking the pace out of the play here at the moment but they can't afford to give away balls like that. Smith has been fouled now says the referee got a closer look than I did. Pass from Bottage Throw in it will be Cottage Fif back to Shuan. Another long one for the goalkeeper. Guarded nicely. Kombi. Oh, lovely. Oh, a good save too from Shuan denying Butler his second. But a goalkeeper really angry with the way they allowing Kin Zombie to do that work from that left hand side. That's the second or third time that he's produced the guts from here. It's a gorgeous ball in. But who on earth was supposed to be guarding Butler? That's a fine save there from Shuan from point blank range. Ball coming in by the way from Sigi. Wow. Decent start we're seeing here from Kbas at the moment. And that man is just absolutely so confident. Justin Butler. I've always said he's he's got that pace. He's he's a dynamic player. He's got a lot of potential. But now that potential is turning into goals vice cleverly done away from Manoa clever from Peta headed away from now backender from Warick That challenge got the ball. I like the way Richa is got that energy here today cuz that's a good challenge. Yes, he's sliding into his opponent but he didn't get the ball taking it away from Butler and he knew there in that instance if he didn't get him Butler's got that pace to get away. again. >> Twice out well get there. Captain Borgman was guarding. Well, applause there from the goalkeeper. I think he could have caught that himself. As it is, it's been cleared by Manu. No hand ball. There was a play for one there. OJ Lee can't find a cross from that angle. Manu again. That's the way they did it. Well worth watching again too. Justin Buckler. That calmness on the ball. Brilliant. Kinsomi takes on Mik Mikl Brones. Good work from him. So far the only change to Corbas' team one that took a point away from Sank Powley who were relegated from the Bundesliga last season. So to Volsborg who Don played but that Volsborg squad that they have at the moment looks like it should be good enough to gain promotion back to the Bundesliga but it's going to be difficult in this season for any team I think I expect it to be closely knit. Current table toppers are Hera from Berlin and Nunberg. They've been performing ever so well. Heenheim the other team that came down together with S. Powley and Volsber from the top tier. They are currently in third. My home side Datite are rock bottom and trailing by one goal to nil here. Keep coming forward though. Pass from Vice helped overlapping Michl Bronze. That was difficult, wasn't it? But he made it almost look so easy to try and get that shot away. Right smile as well there from Lester. Like to see that one again. >> Thumbs up to the man who delivered. Vice helped. Not easy to take that ball on the volley like that. >> It was not that far away. Ball lost. Can this be the one for Lee? Stopped by Luca airline again. Butler Clayfish just about put a toe in the way. Good from Sigerti and Shuan this time. Toli Sigi getting a shot on target. He had a great opportunity before that he put wide. 25 minutes gone. First corner again. They've got bodies here inside the box but also guarding outside of it. That was Mitchell Brink Gomi. Even Manu the big center back is Özo up front as well. Tigeri what was the epitome of energy for Energy. And here they go again. Not easy to keep these players at bay at the moment. >> Certainly starting very well in this what openly 27 minutes now. Where's that time gone? FC Edopos the team that took the lead with that wonderful goal from Justin Butler. tricked himself there. That was a lovely flick from Butler. Fighting spirit from Kin Zombie who wins the ball back as well. Lays it off for Sigerji. Immediately that pass trying to find Hanamanu was up front. Mano airline break. >> I wouldn't say it's a swagger at the moment from Enigi Copus, but the confidence is there. That was a clever idea. Not quite the wide execution from Lee, but the first time pass like that is not an easy thing to do, but it almost paid off for them. Sometimes those little differences make the big difference. Ed line again. Look at the bodies of three in the back there inside that box from Dimestat. They had more players than Dimestat themselves because they were a little too slow to come back. Corner number two. Sorry. Throwing There might have been some kind of connection. I'm not quite sure why the player still down Eden. I think it's Smith. It is, but he's nursing that ankle of his, but the referee was very close. did not give a foul, but he's going to have to come off the pitch. And if he does so, he's going to have to wait a minute before he gets back onto it. It's still rolling here. What the heck happened? Well, that can't be play acting because uh he would have realized by now it's about time to get back on his feet. It's just that the referee didn't see it. I wasn't quite sure there was some kind of contact on his ankle. Let's have a look here when the ball came down and then foot came down. Referee deemed it not to be a foul. Voyan Kofeld in his dugout at the moment knowing that things are not good at the moment for Darmstat. After six years in Bundesliga 2, they were promoted to the Bundesliga in 2023. Back down here again. Like I said, last season they really were promotion hopefuls. At the end of the day, they finished fifth, but they had been playing so so well up until the final nine or 10 games of the season when everything went wrong. Few misplaced passes that I've seen so far from Got Bus and from Airline Cottage from Peta. It's Kas who have the ball. Seemed well there. They seem to have more bodies
