Once again, Wake up. Hey, wake up. Hello and a very warm welcome to Lavo Arena as Bundesliga 2 gets back underway after the extended 3-week international break. It is party time in Heidenheim. We kick off match day seven with two of the top five going head-to-head. Heidenheim and Kaiser Slartton in third and fifth are separated by just a couple of points. Both have lost only once so far and both have their eyes on a place in the promotion picture come the end of this season. Heim came down from the Bundesliga back in May after a remarkable threeear spell which encompassed European football. >> Their first three seasons in Germany's top flight put them well and truly on the map. Kaiser Slottton will last a Bundesliga side in 2012. They haven't been in the top three promotion places since the season after that when they lost in the relegation promotion playoff. But after four years stabilizing at this level after a surprising four years in the third tier, they now look ready for a new assault. >> This could be one of their most important tests so far. A side who haven't scored many but do have the best defensive record in the division >> against a side who have hit eight goals more but also have proved a little leaky at the back. >> It may be a small arena but it is one of the most passionate when it gets going. Here are the lineups. Frank Schmidt has made three changes to his starting 11 leading internationals Voodoo Zad and Alexandra V on the bench after they only arrived back from duty in the last couple of days. Martin Bush has also dropped out injured. In their places come Wid Mahandi, Matias Honzac and Belel Calfman who'd only previously started once this season the day in the win over Dinamo Dresston. Christian Conte looks like moving up front as a result although his brother Soloord is not yet ready to return after a knee injury in March. Norah Marcel Costley and Maximillian Bruin Julian Nihus in midfield spent three years with Kaiser Slottton before leaving for Heidenheim in 2024. Kaiser Lton welcome back Finnish international Natan Skita who was injured on match day two. He is one of four changes with Jakob Rasmusen also returning to the side after one game out with a muscle problem. Fabian Kunza is restored to midfield after missing out against Brownike from the start. Minim Bisha takes the place of Ibrahim Kate up front. Leon Robinson, Alex Murphy and Thierry Tazimea are the others to drop out. Tazamea returned from international duty with Austria's under21s with a back problem. However, he is fit enough to take a place on the bench. >> There is Nihus who made 80 appearances for today's visitors scoring six goals in his three seasons with them. beginning that start in the third tier. >> They've been free scoring here. 10 goals in the three games. All three victories. Seven goal roller coaster against Osen Brook. Eight goals when Dinatresen came here and then just the one against Holstein K. Kaos Lton have been hard to break down. >> A narrow one-0il win against one of their coach to Liber's old clubs. Ein track branch fight was their last outing before the international break. They began with two goalless draws. They've had a couple of derbies already against Kos in the league and Valtov Manheim in the cup. Frank Schmidtz and Lieieber are old friends. Not just old friends, but also old colleagues in Germany's under 15s as well as their under 20s. They went to the 1993 under 20 World Cup together in Australia. Kaiser Slatton known as the Red Devils, but they'll play in blue. A change strip today. Such is the capacity here or lack of it. Only around 550 tickets have been sold for their away support, but all was snapped up very, very quickly. They travel pretty well. Marlon Rita their skipper >> in conversation with today's referee Florian Lehner as the teams get in the tunnel and prepare to make their way out onto a pristine looking surface. Home form was what kept them up against expectations for three seasons. They eventually bade farewell finishing second bottom back in May. But they have made a decent start despite a surprise cup defeat to fourth tier Yedulu. They are back on track in Bundesliga 2 and pushing themselves up into that promotion picture along with Berlin who look well prepared to come back to the top flight too and Nunberg the early leaders now second under Miruslav Clauser. The promotion race has been a close one. over the last six or seven years in Bundesliga 2. Those fans who have made the three-hour journey southeast from Kaiser Slutton down to this small town just outside will come an expectation. They punched above their weight even to get to the Bundesliga. Staying there and reaching European football too was a remarkable achievement. Now they look to bounce back at the very first attempt. Heenheim in the red and blue. Kaiser Start and the unfamiliar blue. Gollum watching on. We got a Lord of the Rings themed Tif at that far end of the stand. Schmidt's 21st meeting with that man Lieieber as a coach more than he's faced any other. They look more stable at the back than they have done for many years. They've shown that on occasions they can score more than one goal a game. Even if they only have six so far, three of those came in one game against Damstep. Another two against Zack Palley. It is Marlon Ritter on the right against Patrick Ma who passed 300 appearances for Heidenheim at his old club Armenia last time out. That is Malorita who also wins the toss. And then from the Ostar this particular region not sure what the bottom bit says helpful gent is just going to try and show us what it says. And we have the eye of Sauron as well as Gollum. >> There's not much of that stance, just one short tier, but it is pretty impressive nonetheless. We've had some amazing teeth. First, not least, the roller coaster at Osnuk returning to Germany's second tier in real style. Well, that man has had a good start. Paul Henry scored on his full debut against Armenia. We look to continue on the right hand side. Frank Schmidt said they've worked hard on making their game versatile, flexible for each opponent. >> Kaiser Slutton have paced. They're quick in transition. They're physical. They're good from set pieces. They should provide a stern test here. So, off we go again. Club football is back. And for Heidenheim and Kaiser Slutton, it is a Friday night meeting under the lights here at the Voyahena. And an early foray forward for the home side who was stopped in their tracks by the referee. Mikl Kman rising high. Leane also using his arms to maneuver. Budad only back late from Georgia duty. So to Alexandro V with the Swiss under21s. So the Dane leads the line along with Christian Conte who might well push out if it's just one up top. Kaiser Slton's back line with Ali Ji and Rasmusen will look to try and keep him quiet. but also using their strength up top and the guy of Ritter here to be able to work something. Mikkahas back to Res Musen who didn't spend long out of the lineup. Just that one game with a muscle problem. Down they go for H. Henrik with a little stumble forward and across in noon nonsense fashion. >> Comes the challenge on H. It was offside anyway. only just but good anticipation in the center though. >> Henrik looked like he might be struggling. So Wid Mahi cut across Lieieber has picked an 11 none of whom have actually scored. It's not in the league anyway. >> Reminder of who is here. Forward they come with Alvedi, >> one of the center halves, not usually an attacking right wing back. Now they back pedal. >> It is Po Jolie the Frenchman who's out on that right hand side normally providing the width. Ji the route back to the goalkeeper closed off. Now he does go back to Julian Khn who has the best save percentage in the division so far and was the assist maker for Erin John Yadini's winner against Branch Fike. That did just go out of play. Mikuel Hula Hidenheim's new left back let it go. Here is Shi swept away by Dana who also knows what it's like to get Bundesliga promotion with a a smaller club having done so with Holstein K. Here they come with Shaheen Rita opening it up. >> There was just a moment where he might have taken it on. Shaheen Fahas back to it. Semi Shaheen or they bypassed him for Rasmusen just enough on that one for it to find Delvedy. And this is where Hidenheim can break and be so dangerous. And it's a brilliant ball to find Hornzac who'll have to go early. And Ji tidies up well. There's an example of how quick Heidenheim can be on the break. Perfectly weighted. The Austrians's first touch just let him down. And Maxwell Jumpy used his pace well. Four minutes in. Muhammadi with the throw and it very nearly fell for Christian Conte. There is Barisha. Henrik. No way through. That's a foul from Nihus. Not too much in that in the end. >> Fabian Kunza taking evasive action. Five minutes in. H nice little dummy. Now he will have to wrap his foot around it. And it's almost reached its intended target. Skita Marlon Ritter for Rasmusen Kaiser Slutton already having more of it. Here's Kunza's demotion to the bench last time out there was a bit of a sign bit of a signal from Lie that nobody is safe. Nobody automatically deserves a starting birth. Frank Schmidt has asked for the same kind of display that they've shown recently, particularly at home. The willingness to work, the runs in behind, the work off the ball, something they have worked quite a bit on over the break, the tackling, the aggression after losing the ball. One thing Kaiser Larton don't have quite yet, although it was trailed before the game that they might is Ivan Pain, their striker who touries Achilles back in January and is back in training. Played in a friendly that they had over the international break, but it's not in the match day squad here. Skita is back and that's a brilliant run from him. Might he work the space for a shot? He does, but it's over. another who came back in that friendly against course Asparach of the lower leagues and the Finnish international is a key player for them. Rita in a good position not spotted their most expensive signing in around a decade and he does make a difference. There's another direct one for Calfman. >> Well, Hidenheim have never lost here to Kaiser Slutton. Three wins and two draws. They've also never won away to them either. This is their first meeting for about three and a half years the 2022 23 season. Both games finished 2-2. Jamfi once again a nice ball for Skita and it's fallen here for Shaheen off the bar and then over. Oh, that should have been much much better on the follow up. Shaheen arriving really well and then Merki Barisha could not keep it down. They worked that one brilliantly into the space. The challenge was a desperate one. The deflected shot from Shaheen onto the crossbar. And then Barisha, he's got time to think about what he does here. He just doesn't get above it. Promising start. Three shots to one already in Kaiser Lton's favor. Yo Bransmiss using what little space there is between the edge of the pitch and the adverts. Behind it goes off Ferenbach who got the winner. The only goal in the last game here against Holstein Keel. A rare goal too. defending to do then organization for Dana who has Ma doing that organization just ahead of him. Marlon Rita the man for the set pieces. His teammates are boxed in on the edge of the area at the moment. Now they break and it hits Ma who directs it out of harm's way. Shaheen didn't really play the ball. Didn't really show much intention to play the ball either. Foul on Kumman and a final warning. He's not going to earn the ball at all. His intention is to make sure that the dane cannot break. That kick goes from Nihus headed by Jumpy picked up by Shaheen. We've reached the 10-minute mark and he invites Salved forward who invites Ritter to cut it back. Berisha doesn't get there. And in the end, it's cool defending on the line to let the ball go into the open space that Rita then came across. Been a rotating door policy up top. Bes getting the nod here. Ibrahim Kate who scored highly emotional emotionally charged winner in the cup game against Valhov Manheim as well as Senjan Yadimchi who came off the bench to get the winning goal against Brown last time. Conte out as far as Wit Amdi. The fullback who can also play wide on the right wins the corner. Stepping up after time with Vale in the third tier last season. Another gem potentially from the lower leagues found by Frank Schmidt. Did the same with Omar Troy who has gone on to well briefly Udin then Watford in it comes to the far post. Flick is from Aldi and it needed one because numbers were waiting including Sherpa. Really nicely worked ball whipped in from Henry. Wid Mi is the man on corner duty from there. >> Kaufman at the near post. Now they do break in. It goes low but into the side netting. different kind of setup. Not quite the outcome. >> Nobody has more in this fledgling Bundesliga 2 season from set pieces than Heenheim who've scored six of their goals, 43% of their goals from them. Four of those coming from corners. Mohamd spreading it and that just sneaks all the way through before Hanzac could get his foot on it. Mikail Hula drilling one with his left foot. It has been a solid start from Kaiser Lton. It's actually been Heidenheim's best ever start to a Bundesliga 2 season. 13 points and 14 goals at this stage. Three points behind Nuremberg. Five off her. And here they come again looking for Hanzac who doesn't get there in a fine sight away to the right with the blue and red rain jackets. Not that they need the rain jackets at the moment. It's just been the best way of creating that color. >> One by Rita Bisha looking to get on to it. Sherpa improvising. Hamdi Kaufman. Not a lot of room in there. Chipped up immediately to Berisha. Very intense in those kind of areas. And then KHL has no issue dealing with that one. only her to have beaten Heidenheim so far was a heavy loss a 4-1 defeat in week two they too have played friendlies over the international break suffering a three-0 defeat to Stuka and then beating Vzber kickers by three goals to one Kman got a couple of those goals >> boosting his claim for the start here which he's There he is. Does hold the ball up well. >> Champy won't be able to see that one out. Nor does he get a free kick against Honac Fer back to Hera. We needed some new faces. There were a number of departures. I mentioned Troy already. Nicholas Dors midfield and Martin Pier up top. Anthony Beck has gone on loan to Obra Benedict Gima and Stefan Shimmer other departures. Gimbra a defender Shimmer a longerving striker. The likes of Conte remains. Shepner who gets decent amount of goals from midfield and those two together have helped win a free kick here. Although Kante has come out worst had just about stayed in. Now Vdetti going for the first one. Jolly the second enough to bring Frank Schmidt out of his dugout. Twoman wall which includes the captain Conte back on his feet. Plenty of movement ahead of him into the far post where Ferinbach is waiting. Ha. And then the acrobatics from Hanzac which he didn't really connect with. Just one assist for the Austrians so far. On target though although it never looked likely to trouble Julian Khal. Kaiser starting with the better start. More of the ball in more threatening areas. Here they come again with Har. Barisep no way through against Mohammadi Musa Henrich. had a little look up. Saw where Conte was going. Kaufman could run us again through midfield decides to let that one go. Hiding corner. Forward come those with a little bit of heights. Sharper, firm back, Gimber all in there dancing around. Flares have been lit up now. Kunza can give that one plenty. Up to halfway. Kman battling again. Khal is asked to come and does round the corner and it's well played FKA who is off and running at full pace. Oh, and had it taken off his toes. Nihu acrobatically away. Shaheen though aim for Barisha mind kick and leave it for his keeper. Dana started the last five games now with Frank Fella beginning the first two, their young goalkeeper Kunza. His experience has got him back in ahead of Robinson. >> Hasn't really clicked for him so far this season. He's made a purposeful start here. pass with a given go and he's inside Henrik now. He's got three to aim for again. Not the right cross from the young Mikahas. in front of the Kaiser Slottton fans. Rasmusen hurls one pass is on the chase. Julie had a rethink pass directed well for Rita who goes early and maybe just too high but a nice idea spotting Thomas Dana a little off his line. He quickly retreated did the goalkeeper not on the score sheet as yet this season. 11 goals in all competitions in the previous campaign. For a player who wears his heart in his sleeve, Kaufman Shepner knew who's battling. Shner will come away with it. Now he can drive here. Mighty fancy a go. He does deflected and touched behind. Car made sure who scored in each of their first four games. got an own goal in the cup. Scored three in the league. Leading scorer with Buddha Zante at the moment with three goals. Yan Shepner and his effort has now brought about a corner which Khal tries to direct. Conte. Everyone had pushed out. >> Quarter of the game gone already. Bright start has given way to a more intense period in the center of the park without too much in the way of goal mouth opportunity. Kaiser Slton look again though with Skita furthest forward. They really do fight quickly to get the ball back. Kaiser Slutton when they lose it about 9 seconds between losing it and winning it back on average at the moment. >> They're shading possession too. They've had to nearly twothirds of it. pushed out by Py Henley to that side where Conte is spending much of his time. Honza more or less up top rather than on the left wing at the moment. Silla doesn't come in though. >> Ritter is there to prevent it. Finding Wid Mi 19 years in charge. He's just passed Frank Schmidt. Kaiser Lton have had 20 different coaches during his time in charge here, not including the interim ones. Carl for Maxwell Ji who's calm on the ball seems to have cut out some of the silly mistakes. from last season. Dana as well as working off the on tackling and pressing and closing down over the break. Frank Schmidt must have focused on defending too as H goes through and Shner tidies up because they've been a little too leaky. Conceded more than anybody else in the top six. Only four sides have actually let more in the whole division. Kaiser Lton supporters in that bottom left corner there. Another Rasmisson long throw. Julie Honzac has Kante surely firmly into Cristian Conte. Well, he gets the ball. There isn't much in the way of contact if any After a little bit of maneuvering, Dana goes long. Ka Conte against Dan Vi when they've gone out to the left hand side. It hasn't always come in as quickly as they might like. Christian Conte second start of the season in succession. missed four games after being injured as a substitute in the opening game of the campaign. That is a free kick against Heidenheim. Although Henri is down had it taken off his toes. Is it Mera? I think it's Ma actually. who was lining up a shot and in the end booted the studs of the player in front of him who had just nicked the ball away. That is going to hurt because he'd lined it up. Not real contrast between the place Frank Schmidt calls home here, the Vitina and the Fritz Valtoian, the Betsenberg as they call it in Kaiser Slottton. He's very rarely injured. Patrick Ma 300 appearances as I mentioned against his old club Armenia last time out. He's been ever present in the last three seasons so far. Kicks Kunza's studs one number six on the other. And he's really about to give that everything. So it's understandable if not just his foot but the ankle as well >> is in a bit of pain from the impact of that. He's never played fewer t
