Icelandic striker Breki vows two goals in Norway — can he deliver?
Dortmund follows 16-year-old Icelandic striker Breki through daily life and a UEFA Youth League trip to Norway. He missed the Villarreal game through illness, then predicted two or three goals and scored twice in a 5-0 win.
- His start at Dortmund has been very good and the teammates are friendly — Coming from another country is hard, but Liam, Tom and others were nice, and his first months in Germany went well.
- Football at Dortmund is like a religion — He says people in other cities go to church on Sunday, while people in Dortmund go to the stadium.
- Iceland and Norway are not close, contrary to what many people think — He says Iceland is far away from everything, so the two countries are not close at all.
- The windy, cold training conditions are not always like Iceland, but he is used to them — He has trained in bad Icelandic weather for most of his life, so it felt like training back home.
- He followed the coach's instruction to stay high and delivered when the chance came — In the first half the team had almost all the ball and he saw little of it as a striker, but the coach wanted him high to score, and he did.
- He told someone in German he would score two or three goals and then did it — He describes Fadi outpacing the defender before passing for his second goal, which he slid in despite almost missing.
- The 5-0 win was good for the team, put them back on track for three points, and he was very happy with two goals — He says the final whistle felt great, the team won, and he scored twice.

[music] I didn't play against Villarreal because uh because I was sick. I Everyone was like asking me, is this like in Iceland? Is this like in Iceland? >> [music] >> And I was like, sometimes, but not all the time. I've been training like that my whole life almost. Like when there was going to when there was so bad weather in Iceland, you just have to train in it, and I've gotten used to it. And it was like training back home in Iceland again. >> Oh, yes. yes. >> [snorts] >> Do you feel okay for tomorrow? >> Of course. Nothing to worry about. >> How many weeks we need? >> I can't talk. >> You can't talk? >> Mhm. >> Okay. >> [laughter] [music] [music] >> Yeah, we are and I have just enjoy the game not stress too much about the people watching or coach watching or whatever who's watching and just show UP AND THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I DID. THE FIRST HALF WAS QUITE GOOD BECAUSE WE just we almost had the ball the whole time. And for me as a striker I wasn't really much in the ball in the first half but the coach wants me to stay up high and score the goals so and when that it came to that I I delivered. >> [applause and cheering] [cheering] >> Okay. >> [applause] >> Okay. Let's go. I really like when Fadi outpaced the defender in my second goal. I thought he was going to shoot for sure. But he passed the ball. The pass was so hard and I had to slide tackle into it and I almost missed, but it was thankfully I got to it. Yeah, I said to you in German I'm I'm going to score two or three goals. And that's what I did. >> Final whistle felt great. 5-0 win. Good for the team. Good to be back on track for three points. Of course, two goals for me. It's really really I was REALLY HAPPY. >> [whistles] [snorts] [applause] >> I CAN'T SUFFER IN ON next [music] week. Yeah, I'm really excited for the journey. It's going to be far I think. Yeah. 5 hours. It's really far. [music] So, it's going to be fun. I love traveling. I don't love [music] traveling but with the guys with the team it's fun. It's going to be I think 25 degrees or something. It's not ideal for me but I will deal with it.
