I think it could happen. Leeds to win the FA Cup. This week I'm joined by Maisie Adam. She's not only a comedian, but she's also a massive Leeds United fan. Well, Maisie has one job and that is quite simple. Put the ball in the back of that net. Let's go, Maisie. >> Oh. >> Now, if Maisie scores, I'll give her an easy [music] ride. If she misses, I won't BE SO KIND. >> OH, THAT'S HORRID. >> This is golden goal. Well, let's welcome Maisie Adam, shall we? Come on in, Maisie. >> Come on. Sorry, I was distracted. I was watching the other game. >> But we've got the real footballer in now, haven't we, Maisie? >> Yeah. >> What's your footballing ability like? I mean, we've seen glimpses of it >> in Soccer [music] Aid, of course. >> All 12 minutes. Yeah, yeah. I would say it's A for effort, C for execution. >> So, we've already had Harry >> Oh. >> take on the golden goal. >> Bang. Told you. Like that. >> I'll take on a try to famous last words. >> last one laughing. I mean, of course you can take on >> How will that help here? Talk of this. >> Right, so first things first then, penalties. >> Now, you're putting the penalty spot behind the official spot. The game's gone. Size of that. >> [laughter] >> You'll trip the ball up. >> Right, are you ready for this? >> I mean, it's so far away. This will do no wonders for women in sport. Oh my word. >> I'll change the tactics. >> No, I'm going the exact SAME SPACE. OH. >> BIG HANDS, THAT'S ALL I'LL SAY. Big hands. >> I'm going to make things a little bit more difficult for you. >> You I'm off on a long old flight. >> No smiling here now, Maisie. In the zone. >> Oh, I've immediately forgotten how many steps away I am. >> [music] >> OH, [screaming] WHAT DID I GET? Oh my god, THAT'S SO BAD. THAT'S SO BAD. >> OKAY, SO one scored. I'm a little bit perturbed that the shot where I was blindfolded was a better shot than the one where I had full vision. >> You're a Leeds fan. >> Yes. >> How did that happen? [music] >> Growing up in North Yorkshire, literally geographically the closest one, but all of my family [music] are massive Leeds fans. I think it's quite a good thing when you're brought in as a youngster to a football team that are not having a good time. Like all of my family, when they talk about Leeds United, they've got amazing memories about the Don [music] Revie years. They speak about actual Champions League. I grew up >> What's a Champions League? >> hearing words like administration and relegation. [music] >> What do you make of Daniel Farke? >> I really like him. I think he's a real character. I think he doesn't mince his words. He's very Germanic in the way that he speaks. Definitely like a a feeling that he was a promotion manager. He was somebody that was We saw him do it with Norwich, and obviously he did it with us, but we came very times dangerously close last season. Thank god for West Ham is all I'd say. >> Do you have a pet hate in football at the moment? >> It's not going to be popular, but Hull City's maul. You're getting mauled by the tiger. I don't think there's a bigger ick than seeing a sea of 300 burly East Riding men going It's so bizarre. It's giving cats. Why? Stop trying to be Mr. Mistoffelees. >> Are you ready? This is challenge number two. Cones behind you. We are going to dribble through those cones, come to between these two cones, shoot at Steve. >> He still hasn't blinked. >> He still hasn't blinked. >> Still hasn't blinked. >> Can I tell you something? I think [music] I think he's AI. I don't think he's real. Ask him to touch his nose. I bet he can't do it. >> the character. >> He's a glitch. >> He's playing the character. Let's do this. Let's do this. >> Come on, Maisie. You've got this. Perfectly done. Nice. Over the top. LOVE THAT. OH! >> [screaming] >> THAT WAS JUST A WARM-UP. THAT WAS JUST A WARM-UP. >> NICE. Perfect little dribbling technique. Lovely stuff. Yes, Maisie. >> Put that in your chat GPT, Steve. >> [laughter] >> Sorry, Steve. Sorry. Sorry. Maisie. Nice. >> Woah! >> Look. Bottom left, STEVE. BOTTOM LEFT. YES! [screaming] YES, MAISIE! First things first, Leeds or Brighton [music] as a place. >> I'm going to go Brighton. It's somewhere that you feel absolutely grand moving to on your own not knowing anybody and immediately finding [music] your people. It's just It's a It's There's something for everybody there. >> I love it. >> VIDUKA OR CALVERT-LEWIN? >> OH, THAT'S HORRID. THAT'S HORRID. >> OH, um I'll go Viduka. >> Yeah. >> Cuz of the the sentimental childhood in me like goes he was an icon. And also like big up any football player that retires and is like that's me done. I'm out. I'm off to run a cafe in Croatia. >> What's more stressful, stand-up or watching Leeds? >> Watching Leeds. Watching Leeds because stand-up, you have a bad gig, you're going, "Okay, but I could have done this different and [music] I know why that happened." Leeds, you're watching 11 blokes that you don't know and they're just playing They're just playing with your heart. You don't get to go, "Excuse me, why did you do that, Dan James? Why didn't you cross it?" That is like me doing a gig and after the gig, everybody in the country gets in touch to say what I should [music] have done on stage. And also goes, "You've ruined my weekend because you told a bad joke." >> It's time for challenge number three. We've introduced another guy, not just Steve, but we've clearly got >> Oscar Stutch. >> We've gone from Ballon d'Or >> Ballon Oscar >> to Oscars. >> Yeah. >> I will lay the ball off onto you. You are going to go around the mannequin, smack a ball to the goal. Hit top bins, you get bonus points. The ball past Steve first and foremost. >> He's still not linked. I on like You can't look at it. It's too real. >> There you go. Yes, yes, MAZIE. OH, [screaming] SURELY THAT'S COUNTED, NO? >> What I would argue is this isn't sturdy enough, actually. Had that been strapped in place, that's a goal all day long. >> [screaming] >> Nice. Oh, lovely little dribble to the left. Oh, unlucky. >> I shouldn't have gone left. I've never been a left footer. I don't know why I thought I would be now. >> Let's go. Back round the RIGHT SHE GOES. >> [screaming] [laughter] [screaming] >> GIVE ME. >> HONESTLY, REALLY REALLY GOOD, ACTUALLY, STEVE. I've always been a big fan. Big fan. Big fan, yeah. Big fan. Mazie, best day of my life, guys. Best day of my life. If I could get a copy of that, that'd be amazing. That was the best best feeling of my life. Honestly. Honestly. >> And we were still laughing in disbelief. >> WOW. WOW. SOME of us believed, actually. Some of us believed since day one. >> Did you Did you count >> No, not at all. >> What's the best part of being a Leeds [music] fan? >> I like the kind of pre-match ritual of going to the Peacock over the road. I like the walk from the station. It's quite a ritual thing, I think. I don't know, there's something about being all together in it. I know it sounds really corny. >> Leeds? >> Yeah. To win the Conference League. >> Or the FA Cup. >> Oh, God. The FA Cup last season was such a ride for Leeds. [music] I kind of feel like we've opened that account. I want to see it through. I think it could happen. >> This season? >> Yeah, I do. You've got to believe. Would you have said that that had happened when I first arrived? >> now. >> Exactly. You have to believe. Leeds to win the FA Cup. >> Your very good friend Jill Scott, [music] who you work extremely close with from a footballing perspective, or >> Susie Lafford. That's horrible. >> Ooh, Susie Lafford. Women's football podcast. Very good friends of yours. >> How on earth can you pick between them? >> I uh I'll tell you what. I would if we if we were a little three-person team, yeah, [music] I'd pick um Jill as my player, obviously. I'd pick Susie as my manager. She loves a roll neck and a suit. She's quite Wiegman in [music] her style. >> Really? >> We have a score. >> Oh god, Maisie Adam. I can tell you. [music] >> Yeah. >> You scored. Drumroll, please. Six points. >> Yes. I'll take that. >> I'll take that. >> Well impressed. >> Well impressed. [music] >> Thank you. >> Whoever is next has got a tough tough score to beat, by the way. >> Yeah, make sure they know that. >> Yeah. >> Well done, Zoe. >> Yeah, get in there early. Please like and subscribe if you enjoyed watching the episode, and I'll leave it to Maisie to hopefully replicate that top bins again. >> Come on, Zoe. >> a once-in-a-lifetime thing. >> Was it though? There we go. >> it's in the goal. >> That's fine, isn't it? Should we go pub? >> Yeah, let's go let's go pub. >> Let's go pub. >> Every cloud has a silver lining. >> [laughter]
