hello cooler it's pablo here and welcome back to bass universal and welcome to the match review of barcelona 2 real madrid 3. we have lost a super copper real madrid will progress to the final it's a fifth straight classical defeat for barcelona that is one of real madrid's longest winning runs against us in history but it was a great game it was a very very good football match i think for the neutral for anyone watching and especially for barcelona fans it was a very positive game we saw a lot there that we can be happy about and certainly after went to extra time there is a lot and a lot to talk about it was an amazing game a really good semi-final but at the end of the day barcelona are out it feels like we've said that a lot of times now even when we play well even when it looks like things are going for us we're gone we're defeated and rarely in the final so let's start with the lineup then actually some interesting points on both teams on real madrid teams alibaba wasn't fit and then kadma had to start at a right back i think alibaba's absence actually did play into our hands i did feed as a friend which were nowhere near as solid at the back as they usually have been this season but for barcelona ferran today's got a debut start i'm not sure that that was actually really the right decision but he started down the right wing actually got subbed off at half time and then also some novelties there frankie dion back in the team too araujo could play 120 minutes to a very good level but dion like fedan was also brought off at halftime and starting with the first half i actually felt in the first 20 30 minutes that you know what real madrid were just a dominant team i really thought the realm would start the game far better than barcelona i thought they looked like a team that were top la liga and we looked at the team that was sick you know they were passing through us quite easily they were getting through our press they were hurting us with pace and despite a pretty amazing first you know half an hour i thought from danny alves who i thought until he got taken off had a very good game it was almost not all real madrid but they just felt so superior so in control we spoke about that in the preview and certainly for that first half an hour they felt like they were the team you know that they knew they were far better than us so far superior they had some really good combinations and they were you know getting through us at some ease and ultimately they actually got the opening goal of the game it's vinicius junior who opens the scoring i think that's his first goal against barcelona actually he's always a menace against us and obviously this season he's been a menace against pretty much everyone but it is a good goal from real madrid i think for barcelona it's a bad goal to concede it's all sketch of all people someone who we'd like to trust in midfield in a team of you know so many young players who gets caught on the ball it's not the first time that's happened this season either and real go down the other end of course as ben is tomorrow feeds it through to vinicius they've been amazing together this season the finish is good at first i thought you know what uh testegan could have done better but it's a good finish into the top corner and real madrid after quite a comfortable hot opening half an hour for themselves found themselves one that up however for the rest of the half the response from barcelona was good and i think pretty quickly you could tell that barcelona not gonna be out of this game just yet and i think that's what we have said about real madrid in the past hasn't it they're not an invincible team i think they showed that today they're nowhere near the standards of some of the top teams in europe no way near guys are buying munich even for example and that is because they just let teams back in the game they cannot really control the football match for the entirety of it i think for i'd say the majority of the game barcelona were in control and as i say we got back in the game luke dion had some good chances from headers actually courtois made some solid saves usman dembele was also a threat in that first off i think actually all game long usually had an excellent performance from barcelona what happens with him we don't know and maybe it is better he moves on now in my opinion with everything that's happened i think it's just time for basta and dembele to depart in my opinion at the end of the season but he played very well today and if he can help us now for the remainder of the campaign then great and barcelona got their award for some good comeback play and it's actually of all people luke de young again three goals in three starts for him up front for barcelona this one his biggest yet in a you've got to say it's almost a lucky goal i think you know it's maybe the sort of goal real madrid themselves would score it's then better again on the left-hand side with some good play i think it's the young actually who flicks the header over to dembele initially the ball is good though you know he fizzles it into the to the near post and actually militale gets there first but clears it against luke the young shins and it rebounds off the post and in and bassa just four minutes before half time found themselves level and going into that second half where all sorts more happen actually at half time barcelona made two changes pederi and very good subs in my opinion i think abdes showed signs of promise i think for the remainder of the game he kind of seemed like you know he he got out of it if you like he wasn't you know too consistent with his runs he gave the ball away quite a bit but pedley on the other hand you know my goodness me we've missed this guy i think he almost gave us a reminder really why so many people raved about pedidy and why he's such a special player for barcelona in spain what a brilliant little football honestly incredible to watch pedaly back in even after months out and he hasn't obviously had much football already since the euros let's be honest with ourselves that's petted his last proper involvement really the euro european championships but i thought he was superb i really did one of the best players on the pitch very close actually very quickly actually apparently he had a good effort on just one of the post i thought that was heading in luke dion also had a head of fist over from a dembele cross and certainly at the start of the second half you know obviously we ended the half well we brought on some players at halftime it felt like we were just pinning around madrid they couldn't really deal with us they were suffocated and honestly it just felt like a lot of the game that after that you know opening 25 minutes of dominance real never had the full foothold in the game only in little periods here and there but it was all barcelona certainly at the start of the half dembele himself actually had a good effort when justified in the post and then the 65th minute more changes for barca and this one's a big one of course anderson fatty his first came back in a long time too of course he did come back for a brief period but then of course got another injury again and you know and hasn't really had any consistency in the first team if you like and hopefully now him and a lot of the players who've come back today can now get you know stints in the team for an extended period of time but actually it was about this point in the game a real madrid just turned up the heat again and they can do this and they do do this and this is what makes them such a good team because even when they feel like they're struggling even when it feels like they're not playing well at all they can just turn on the heat and that's exactly what they did here benefit 68th minute hits the post with a left-footed effort and then just a few minutes later he does get the goal real madrid 2-1 up again it's rare in transition we've said it all game long guys they were just you know too quick against us and we just left way too many spaces for a team you know against real madrid we know that they're good in transition guys and as i say we did not defend against that well enough in my opinion and this goal i think is an unfortunate one for bastards are going to see it actually if r1 was a little bit lucky then i think this one it's not lucky the way it goes in but i think you know the way the way it comes about again it's been tomorrow at the heart of it of course he's the man who gets the ball in eventually but his first step actually is wonderfully saved by the steggen really really good save by the goalkeeper but then it's just frustrating the way it comes back out to carvajal he fizzles it back in it hits off to stegan's foot and beneath him i just taps it in really frustrating because it felt like we've got over the chance there bennett had a great effort currently into the corner to stegan saves it and then he just scores the rebound tapping it's frustrating it's an irritating one to concede barcelona responded though again you know it didn't feel like we were going to give up in this game just yet it did feel like there was one last chance i think for real madrid actually they never really cut off the game i think they didn't do that all game long actually they just again to me don't look that amazing they're a solid team what they are very good at it's just killing you out of nowhere they do feel like they have that that real madrid knack behind them always you can always know that it's real madrid really they just seem to find a way but footballing wise my god i just didn't feel like they were that strong again today and that's been the case for so many classicals even we've looked so inferior to them we always seem to you know be able to at least compete in a decent manner against someone i suppose it's frustrating that we keep losing memphis and nico came on late late on for danny alves and gavi and as i say the game wasn't done yet it was too all there in the 83rd minute and of all people and saw fatty off the bench what a young player this guy is we've said it numerous times on the channel basta fans have spoken about this guy and raised about that and so fatty for years now and he's just incredible again a bit like pedro you know he's been out of the team for so many months but he comes back in here and one's got is that is that goal scoring knack he's a real finisher in the pen in the penalty area which is a bit surprising maybe when you take a look at him but he's such a good player in the box the cross from jordan the alibaba is good after a short corner the header from ansel is well placed and for barcelona it's not a big moment it's another you know come back moment for us and even then for the remainder of the 90 minutes i think if any team was going to go on and make it 3-2 in the 90 minutes it was barcelona but we just couldn't get it in i think that was a good chance when dembele ran clean through on goal but real just looked tired and we had so many attackers on the pitch so at the end of the 90 minutes two all really good football match you know teams had better spells here and there but i think overall very good classic or very intriguing too lots of young players on the pitch for barcelona i think a good 19 minutes work there from chaby's side but heading into extra time i think the issue for me from barcelona's point of view was the formation we were now playing we were kind of playing two at the back if you like you know we kind of hauled a lot of players up there to try and get the the equalizer and obviously we were then left with essentially arrowhead playing center back and right back pique kind of playing center back and jordan alaba who was still playing left back but you know jordan about left back is never that defensive anyway and we never really had a right back on the pitch we had bull sketch on nikon midfield i suppose with pedi and memphis but barcelona never saw it at the back and i think all game long we saw it we were just getting caught out in transitions and seven minutes into at a time that's exactly what happens it's valeria who gets the goal but real there off of a bastard corner i think or a bastard attack had a four on two chance down the other end it was the two i was talking about piquant and who were the only ones left back there and they play it well you know the ball comes out to rodrigo i wondered if they'd overplayed it a bit he cuts it back i think venezuela's maybe could have and should have shot first time he dummies it over valverde takes off benzema and valverde is a player who i think always seemed to play well against us and then you know i watch him for him in other games and he's he's an okay player but i think he likes you know spaces of valve then and he has a lot of them against barcelona and he does well to finish and ultimately he gets the winning goal he always seems to produce something in the super copper doesn't even have editor and look for barcelona i think before the the 120 minutes was up we had a few chances here and there denver land bull scout side effort saved by courtois uh abdullah had an effort to win just one of the post certainly you know in the last five minutes or so there were chances here and there especially when pk nodded it back down across the goal and ansel had that overhead acrobatic kick attempt you know rail looked tired they looked like they they could have killed the game but just never did but i honestly feel as if after that third goal went in barcelona didn't really have much left in them i really feel that i feel as if we put so much effort in to get back into this game and rare was still keeping us at arm's length really even even with the equalizers and then we just didn't have enough to go one more time there and make it three all so there you go guys bastard out rare through i suppose that's the bottom line that's a sad and negative way of looking at it but i think we have got to take positives from the game i thought it was a very good performance from barcelona after quite a poor opening period in my in my opinion we came back not once but twice we played good football i felt as if we dominated a lot of the game and obviously we came into this game not as favorites at all but i think the big thing now for bassa is that we're getting a lot of players back if they can stay fit if they can all play together then it is going to be positive we've got a lot more games coming up even midweek for example now guys in about a week's time we're playing athletic club away at sun moments in the round of 16 of the kabaldere that's the tournament we want to win obviously of course this one today we wanted to win the super copper we know that guys you know it's no point in saying it it's a nothing trophy it isn't we wanted to win it we gave it a rule we couldn't really through they will likely now go on to win the final in my opinion so yeah bastard out but hopefully hopefully now we can start to see something building i'm still convinced about what chavi's doing with the team i've been really impressed with him actually since he's taken over chavi maybe even more so than i initially thought certainly in the first few months anyway i think it's been really really positive the trajectory of the team and now we're getting players back you know having penalty and answer back for just them too it's invaluable for antares of course needs to get up to speed but he's gonna be a big player for us too and then you're checking all the other names in there too we've got options now guys you look today you know some of the names we were bringing off the bench we brought off five good players today off the bench even six when you had your at the end so we've got names now guys we've got options so it is good news it's annoying we've gone out today and obviously we don't like to lose classy calls and it's no good saying that's positive when we keep losing that's five in a row now that's not good we don't embed that into the club at all but yeah it is kind of where we are guys we are of course in transition we are trying to progress as a team and we've lost again but certainly you know in a positive way so i'm gonna leave it there guys please leave your thoughts in the comments down below and good night
