hello coolest it's pablo here and welcome back to bass universal and welcome to a very very special video on the channel as you can see we are live and we haven't been live in a long time and of course it is super copper classical time we've got a bit of a live preview here barcelona vs real madrid and it's even more special because we're joined by a special guest for us debut on the channel it's the undefeated moustache john john please introduce yourself introduce your channel you know let us know what you're all about to the people watching and yeah thank you so much for coming on absolutely pablo i appreciate you having me uh this is a great opportunity just to connect with some more folks so i really do appreciate you having me on um yeah so i've been following barcelona since like 2004. i just recently started my channel a couple years ago we do live barcelona news every monday wednesday friday morning it's called wake up in barsa come hang out have some caffeine start the day and then we do live watchalongs for all of the barcelona matches i do the commentary we have the chat going so you come hang out with kool-aid from around the world and support the blau grana that's what we're all about here on the undefeated channel thank you so much for the intro so yeah guys please his link is in the top of the description go and check out john you know i'm sure we'll do more stuff together in the future great bastard channel and yeah guys you know show the love and we can we can build a bit of a community going on here today we've got a big video of course it is classical week and it's always exciting isn't it i think with with barcelona's current situation with real madrid's current situation the fact that it's a semi-final the super copper the fact that it's the first trophy the season on the line it feels like quite a big game i think everyone would agree with that so so today i think we're going to have a good amount to talk about there's going to be some interesting stuff to talk about too i think in previous class because you know it was always the two giants coming against each other but in this one it's you know a little bit of a different narrative coming into it so john i want you to start by asking you what are your current thoughts on this barcelona team how impressed have you been with how we're progressing on the chavy now what have you seen what do you maybe not like what's your essential analysis of barcelona coming into this game you know how have we been under chavy in your opinion yeah um okay so for those uh of the viewers watching that are familiar with my channel you know i was not expecting the choppy air to begin as early as it did i was thinking we'd ride out the the coleman wave until the end of the season revamp refresh all that stuff so i was pleasantly surprised when it happened um i think i and a lot of kool-aids kind of got a little bit ahead of ourselves in terms of wanting the results to come yeah um we gotta be patient right the he's brought in a different mentality he's brought a new spirit he's brought some fun back to the club i think the clouds have kind of parted right there's a light at the end of the tunnel uh here here's a metaphor i've been thinking about see if this lands with you okay whenever we're at the end of winter and you get that first day of sunshine yeah right yeah for me it's like 55 60 degrees fahrenheit i'm american sorry but it's it's just warm enough that you go oh the sun's out i'm going shorts and t-shirt outside yeah you get out there it's cool for a little bit but then you realize the reality is okay it's not exactly warm yet yes the the setting has changed yes the sun is out but we gotta wait we gotta be patient that's how i'm feeling about chaby we have a very good metaphor thank you thank you we haven't had a healthy starting eleven and he hasn't had enough time to implement the tactics fully right the mentality the effort it's all there but um we just need time we need some time yeah no i completely agree and i think that metaphor is so good because it's been so positive in so many ways and then yet there have been so many fixtures are really we're just like yeah okay this is where we are let's see let's accept this like we've struggled so much so much to score goals like you said we've got so many players missing i think i think having every single game going into it and saying yeah he's out he's out he's out it's just a bit too much in my opinion and and i think once chaby regains a bit of stability with the players he's got back then we will maybe start to see two or three wins in a row at least because right now you know like you were saying you know we've slipped up a bit and and that's just natural i suppose isn't it almost growing pains but for charities barcelona i suppose moving on then to how barcelona could actually be looking in this sort of game again we've got quite a few absences if you look through the team there's players missing here and there there's people who won't be starting because of different reasons we're hearing pedry and ferrantores they're still negative uh still positive sorry for kobe if they are negative in time they could travel are they gonna start i think it's unlikely there's been rumors fed and could start but again let's wait and see so shall we actually start building our teams a little bit for how barcelona could be lining up in this sort of game john do you want to start us with with the goalkeeper and back line because i was watching a bit of your live preview actually earlier and i think you've got the lineup almost spot on there so let's have a look at how barcelona can actually be lining up in this sort of fixture so how would you be setting up you know in the defense and and goalkeeper yeah well starting with goalkeeper it's it's yeah all day i know he's getting some slack right now people are saying he's not the tirstegan he was but light years ahead of nettoe right so terestegan in the back post uh in between the posts i should say i got jordi alba on the left i got pk starting and then we get some questions outside of that we do we do rajo's fit he's on the pitch for me absolutely that's the way it is now uh where he plays center back or right back kind of depends on danny alvas and dest i know as an american i'm sure a lot of folks are gonna expect me to shout for deaths but i'm actually cooling on desks a little bit i'm let me let me pause and say this if des spends the rest of the year on the bench playing it behind danny alves that's okay that's okay if des just learns develops he can sit on the bench and learn i'm not too upset about that so for me i would go pk and a rajo as center back pairings yeah and i would go danny alva's on right back one he's got the experience to not get caught too far up field he'll keep an eye on vanessa right out there on the wing but he also gives us a little bit more of an opportunity to get some offensive opportunities as opposed to if we put langley in center back and a rajo at right back no absolutely i think this is the way charlie will see it as well if an owl has fit he starts absolutely i think they're they're almost going to force all back into the team i really do think that i think if al hud isn't fit i think longley will come in i really do i think it'll be long apk and then i think i think he is going to go with danny alvarez at right back i think he impressed enough against granada i wanted to ask you actually about death while we're on it because sergino dex is in such you know almost a limbo at barcelona right now it feels like the club and chubby are happy to sell him but surely we're talking about one of the the best young right backs in the world now what do you think about desk do you do you believe that he has the potential to play for barcelona honestly because it's a bit worrying yes you do it's a bit worrying the fact that it looks like dust is almost out of barcelona but the only thing almost keeping him here is the fact that he wants to stay should barcelona be keeping deaths basically john in a word yes yeah yes absolutely we paid what 20 million euros for something around there he is 20 years old i think something like that he can play right back he can play left back we experiment experimented with him up on the wings he can't finish okay so write that one off but the fact that he can play right back or left back and when he's at his best like you said he's one of the the most highest rated young players particularly on the wing backs i think because of his versatility because of his potential um that he can still grow into and the fact that he hasn't lost any value the chelsea bayern munich they're looking at him for 20 25 30 million so we got time he's not dropping in value he's gaining experience we can keep them for copa we can keep them for some of the lower la liga matches let them grow a little bit more i'm i'm still okay investing some time and some some resources and deaths before we cut ties i completely agree and and i think what's also worrying is that like you say big clubs are interested in talking about chelsea and bayern munich you know these clubs they don't buy people for for nothing they buy people because they think they're going to be ready to compete and win champions leagues with them that is that simple so i think that says it all and the fact that barcelona could be losing him it's not like there's 70 million offers coming here basket will be losing him for a similar amount that they paid for him it just doesn't sit right with me and and i know he's underperformed a little bit i do get that i'm not saying he hasn't i think he could have given more to us but he's young and i think he's given enough actually and i am hoping actually at least some point after season goes on he gets a bit of stability in the team so let's see what happens with dest let's move into midfield then i think that it's close to guaranteed what we're going to see here because pedry like i said i don't think he's going to start even if he does return a negative test in time i think maximum will sleep eddie's 20 30 minutes i really do feel that deyong again similar actually he's he's with the squad deyong i don't think he's got the medical clearance yet but again i don't think he's going to start and then i don't think ricky porch is going to start so john am i right in the same door sketch nico and gavi i i don't see any way around those three yeah um i think the young what was it some some muscle right by his calves something like that um that would be tough to get around i don't think he could go 90 minutes so i don't think even if he is match fit i don't think he's going to be 90 minutes fit uh ricky people are starting to cool on him a little bit after he got a couple of starts um so yeah i think gavin nico busy if pedry is match fit he comes off the bench at some time um which will be good but i don't think he starts yeah absolutely agree and then i think i think up front is where maybe even more questions come because we've actually got some options here yeah it's difficult to actually start here i think i think one person who i think will start is oozman dembele do we agree on that i think dembele will start a bit hit and miss with dembele and the contract stuff has kind of put me off then by quite a lot actually i'm not very happy with the whole situation but i think he will start on this game do you think yeah i'm with you on that one uh and the the feelings around dembele i yeah i had to defend him throughout his whole career at barcelona of just wait give him time let let's get past this injury okay one more injury let's get past this injury and now he's back he's fit his he's healthy he had that tremendous performance in copa del rey but then completely falls off in the next match against la liga so i don't know what the approach is going to be for the rest of the season if we let him try to earn that contract or not um but i'm with you at least for this match he's in there he's starting on the right wing yeah i think dembele will start and i think i think up front maybe chevy would have liked to use ferrantoros i think weirdly that could have been something chaby wanted to do but i think if we're sitting here fed antones hasn't traveled with a team to saudi arabia he's still returning positive covert tests i don't think we can almost make the lineup with fernan in it it just it just feels wrong i suppose up front then it's behind it's between sorry luke deyoung and memphis to pie i think at the start of the season we wouldn't we would have thought that's not a debate please you know memphis goes straight in but the way people are playing right now is loot they're on the start here john i'm as you are pablo i'm as shocked as you are okay our most threatening attacking player right now is luke the young in in the last two games he looked great and here's what i'll say i mentioned this on some of the live streams during the matches and wake up in barsa he's putting in the effort if you watch the clips that barcelona puts up on the training ground i don't think there goes a day without there's without a clip of the young getting one-on-one work get across in finish on goal and you're seeing that both in front of goal and then also as an outlet he's starting to get on the end of some of those cleared uh defensive passes where he gets a touch on and someone can run onto it yep memphis is trending in the opposite direction yeah he had a hot start coming out at the beginning of the season started to cool a little bit eight goals this year i think but what three of those are pens so he didn't look good in the last match he's coming back from injury um but i i think chemistry is an issue with memphis i think that he actually needs to play on that left wing and have some freedom to create and find somebody else as opposed to being with his back to goal being that target man as a number nine yeah yeah that's interesting i think i think you're right i think the fact that look we played two la liga games in 2022 we've scored two goals and who scored both of them it's been leon i don't think there's a way that we go into this game and then saying hang on a minute you know we don't want you anymore and that's kind of what i find a bit weird actually when when luke dion scored against her granada four minutes later chubby hooked him and and i thought oh i i i liked at the time because i thought memphis and out there they're to kill this game but yeah i know hindsight is easy to say we're all managers after the game aren't we but yeah i just thought you know he's just scored and then he hooked him i found it a bit strange so would you move on to the left-hand side then i think that almost leaves us with three options we've got juggler who's been in good form i think and he's done a good job i just don't think his name is at the top of the list right now i suppose you got memphis to pie then who can count as another option you've also got anna solfatti who i think will come back i don't think he's going to start i don't think maybe he comes on a half-time maximum maybe he does start who knows you know charlie could go full out but i don't think he's going to start and then you also got abdel of course we do have some options actually in attack right now which we didn't have in the past we were kind of you know trying to scramble players in the front three and having to play two up front or gave you on the wing and stuff and now we've got options so what would you do here we've got dembele luke dion i think both those guys will start who else starts for barcelona okay so i try to consider a few things right yeah who's on good form who's fit which like you said we actually have some options now finally but also the occasion you got to factor in the occasion and who's going to have the mentality to step up and not be overwhelmed for me that's probably memphis right he's got he's got a stage for the international team with netherlands he's played in big tournaments uh he did correct me if i'm wrong he did play in the first el clasico this season right so he did yeah for me zhukla and abde it's a chance to step up right but it's a roll of the dice we don't really know how they'll respond with that big of a spotlight um in terms of form i would go zhukla he's he's scoring off a corner kicks he's scoring off of open play yeah it's just the occasion that that makes me worried so i would probably start memphis yeah again i don't think ansu's 90 minutes fit i would go memphis the young dembele that'll give the young two players on the wings to run off of him two players to create some space and get a cross in to the big tall de young so i think that's what i would go with um but i'm not going to be hugely disappointed if we see juclo over memphis yeah okay i like you're thinking that i do i think charlie will will kind of be thinking similarly actually i think he maybe will think yeah let's start with judge glar but then hang on a minute has he been did he impress enough in the ground another game is he gonna be you know strong enough for real madrid and i think someone like memphis could come in in there and maybe update as well so let's see and like i'll let you say i don't think ansel will start just yet so let's see let's talk a bit about real madrid though actually because this is of course you know our opponent for this game there are eternal rivals it's real madrid it's classico it's massive it's a semi-finals of the super cup it's a big game but real madrid have seen been really interesting they've been solid they've been good they've been consistent i don't see real madrid as a champions league winning team actually weirdly but in la liga they've been goddamn good domestically they've been super strong benzema and vanessa are incredibly powerful up front they've got a good base there and shelotti has come in and done a good job they for me i don't like saying teams have won la liga or the leagues in january but for me they've won it almost man and and that's the fact of it i really think real madrid are clear barcelona who i think the two main challenges are too far off i think sevilla won't be able to keep up and i think realm should have got the league in their bag and i think they'll be coming into this trophy thinking or playing basser then maybe atletico an athletic club bilbao in the final i think they think they've got this in the bag and they come into this game as favorites but i wanted to ask you john what do you think about real madrid this season because i've been quietly impressed by them without thinking they're world beaters i think they're a solid team and this game are they clear favorites clear favorites yes do i believe in my heart that they're gonna win no all right you're never gonna get me to say that um i i'm i agree with a lot of what you said there they're they're not world beaters they're not champions league favorite i wouldn't even put them in the top three right you gotta know city psg bayern munich the list goes on maybe top five yeah but in la liga they've got it figured out they've got the crafty veterans in the midfield cruz muldrich casemiro they've got the young up and coming phoenicis uh on the left wing and benzema has just kind of found the fountain of youth apparently um he he's just been really finding himself since renato left in my opinion i think he doesn't have that big presence that big ego looming over him and i think he's comfortable now i think that he has appreciated taking on that responsibility as being the leader at the at the club yeah and then ancelotti is he the most underrated manager in europe perhaps i know well by myself as well because when he went to real madrid i thought yeah okay okay i'm i'm okay with that because i was hoping they didn't get like conte or even pochettino and then the
