Real Madrid star Federico Valverde sent a direct message the way of manager José Mourinho in the aftermath of the club’s latest outing.
Valverde for his part featured from the off on Wednesday night, as Real Madrid kicked their Champions League campaign back into gear in a meeting with Serie A outfit AS Roma.
The Uruguayan was initially fielded in the middle of the park, alongside Aurélien Tchouaméni at the base of midfield.
During the 2nd-half, with the visitors desperately searching for a way back into the game whilst trailing by two goals, though, Valverde was shifted to right-back.
And this proved one of a number of important alterations en route to Los Blancos turning the matchup on its head, ultimately emerging victorious by four goals to three.
Speaking to the media in the game’s aftermath, Valverde was therefore drawn on the option of lining out at full-back more frequently in the future. And the 28-year-old provided the perfect response, assuring:
> “I enjoyed playing as a right-back. I’m ready to play wherever the Mister wants.”
