Jadon Sancho offered surprise return route as Spanish club make 'official approach'

Jadon Sancho has been without a club since leaving Manchester United at the end of his contract and he has struggled to land a deal following his Old Trafford departure
Jadon Sancho has seemingly edged close to finally finding a new club, having received an offer from Spanish side Getafe. Sancho, 26, has been without a side since leaving Manchester United at the end of last season.
He left the club for nothing at the end of his contract, having been signed for £73m from Borussia Dortmund back in 2021. But it appears that Sancho could finally be set to find his next employers.
According to Sky in Germany, La Liga side Getafe have made an ‘official approach’ to sign the winger, with the England winger’s representatives now discussing the offer.
Should a deal go through, Sancho would become the second high-profile player to join the side after former Real Madrid icon Dani Carvajal.
Since leaving Old Trafford, Sancho has been linked with a host of clubs including former side Borussia Dortmund. But boss Niko Kovac dismissed the chances of them signing the forward.
> Speaking last month, he said: "We're very well positioned. The squad is already very large. We have 26 outfield players, many of them young. Therefore, we don't need to concern ourselves with that."
Italian side Fiorentina were also linked, albeit turned down the chance to sign him on a free transfer. Non-league club Flixton were also surprisingly forced to speak out after the winger was spotted training at their facilities earlier this year.
> Club owner Christopher Garcia said: "Over the past few days, we've seen a number of posts and comments circulating regarding Jadon Sancho's visit to Flixton FC.
> "To clarify, Jadon was not on trial with the club and was not involved in any transfer discussions. He simply used our facilities for a private training session to maintain his fitness while preparing for the next chapter of his career.
> "We're proud that the quality of our pitch and facilities made Flixton a place where a player of his calibre felt comfortable training, and he is welcome to train at Flixton FC whenever he wishes.
> "During his visit, Jadon was nothing but professional, humble, and generous with his time. After completing his session, he happily met with young supporters, posed for photos, signed autographs, and left a lasting impression on everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him.
> "Jadon is a world-class footballer who has achieved more in the game than most players could ever dream of. He deserves respect for both his accomplishments and the way he conducted himself during his visit, not the unwarranted criticism that has followed.
> "We thank Jadon for choosing Flixton FC as a place to train and wish him every success in the next stage of his career, which will undoubtedly be at a level far above where we currently compete. Our doors will always be open to him."
