Barcelona have revealed how their Clasico shirts will look for the upcoming game against Real Madrid at Camp Nou which will feature Tyler, The Creator on the front of the jersey.
The partnership is the latest in Barcelona’s sponsorship deal with Spotify and will use the artist’s ‘GOLF’ slogan (in reference to his clothing brand GOLF WANG) on the front of the team’s shirts.
The collaboration also includes a clothing range and will feature an “evening with a fusion of music, football and fashion in Barcelona” to celebrate the partnership between Spotify, Barca, and Tyler, The Creator.
Tyler the Creator is the ninth artist to feature on a Clasico shirt and follows in the footsteps of Oliva Rodrigo, Coldplay, Travis Scott, Ed Sheeran, and the Rolling Stones.
FC Barcelona vice-president for the Commercial Area, Joan Soler, had the following to say about the latest shirt.
> “The collaboration between FC Barcelona and Spotify continues to forge new connections between football, music and contemporary culture. With Tyler, The Creator featured on the Clásico shirt, we are building on an initiative that has become part of the anticipation surrounding this match and enables us to reach audiences around the world. This latest activation further strengthens the unique nature of our partnership with Spotify and highlights the power of music and football to bring people together.”
The jersey will actually be worn for the first time when Barca Femeni play in Liga F against Granada on Saturday 24 October. Hansi Flick’s side will then use it for the eagerly-anticipated clash against their bitter rivals the following day.
