Ermedin Demirović has played a major role in this achievement. After scoring a hat-trick in the opening match against Stavanger, the Bosnian striker came off the bench in Bratislava to seal a 3–0 win.
With an impressive four goals, Demirović can even call himself the joint top scorer in the entire Champions League for now. He shares the lead with superstar Erling Haaland and young German talent Nicolo Tresoldi.
He also set a club record for the most goals scored by a VfB player in a single Champions League season.
