Man City Fans Slam 'Pathetic' Star After 'Disgraceful' Display vs PSG

It was a tough evening in the Champions League for one Manchester City star up against PSG.

After being found guilty of breaking the Premier League's financial rules , all eyes are on Manchester City at the moment. The arrival of Paris Saint-Germain at the Etihad has only intensified that interest.

The two-time reigning Champions League holders got off to a dazzling start in Manchester as well, scoring twice inside the opening 15 minutes to stun their hosts. Desire Doue opened the scoring, before Ousmane Dembele doubled PSG's lead just two minutes later. Things went from bad to worse for Man City before the break as Vitinha curled in a third.

Soon into the second half, though, Erling Haaland pulled one back with his customary goal. But just moments later, Gianluigi Donnarumma's error allowed Maghnes Akliouche to restore his team's three-goal lead.

Haaland would then grab another to make it 4-2, but there was time for more drama as PSG won a penalty, which Donnarumma then saved easily from Ferran Torres. Despite City's efforts, they were unable to complete a second-half comeback.

It was a particularly difficult night for Donnarumma against his former club. There were question marks over the goalkeeper for the first goal as he was beaten perhaps a little too easily by Doue's edge-of-the-box strike.

The Italian also was the man who gifted possession to PSG in the build-up to the third goal, with Vitinha beating him with a short soon afterwards. His worst moment, however, came when he failed to keep out Akliouche's strike despite getting a strong hand to the shot.

It's the sort of performance which – despite a late penalty save from Donnarumma – will have Luis Enrique feeling pretty good about selling the Italian to Man City in the summer of 2025. It's the sort of performance that might just have Enzo Maresca questioning the wisdom of selling James Trafford to Leeds United this summer.

It's fair to say Donnarumma wasn't at his best, and after such a poor result, many Man City fans have pointed a finger of blame at the Italian. One remarked:

> "Donnarumma is a PSG spy."

Another said: "Pathetic from Donnarumma. What a disgrace." A third wrote: "Shocking from Donnarumma." Before someone else said: "That’s actually disgraceful from Donnarumma."

Adding to the anger, another wrote: "Donnarumma a shambles." While another added: "NEVER EVER LET DONNARUMMA PLAY BIG GAMES FOR US."

> "Donnarumma is performing like he's been out on the beers."

Some were so furious, they even demanded Donnarumma should be sold, with one saying: "Donnarumma, PACK YOUR BAGS."

Another added: "Get Donnarumma out of my club." A final fan summed up the mood of many, as they said: "Sell Donnarumma ASAP."
