Vinicius Junior hair-pull red card gets him El Clasico suspension for Real Madrid vs Barcelona
· YahooSoccer
The Brazilian's third career red card for Real Madrid will keep him out of La Liga until November 22.
Vinicius Junior will pay a steep price for his reckless red card in La Liga, as the Brazilian has been suspended for four games including El Clasico between Real Madrid and Barcelona later this month.
Real beat Villarreal 1-0 on Saturday and Vinicius had appeared to give them a 2-0 lead in the second half before VAR had a look at the build-up.
Vinicius was in his own half when he grabbed a hold of Nathan Saliba's hair, dropping the Canadian to the turf.
The goal was disallowed, and Vinicius sent off for the third time in his senior career with Real Madrid.
Vinicius will be out until November 22, a run of four games which includes Real's first Clasico of the season versus Barcelona.
Real host Sevilla on Sunday before heading to Barcelona on October 25 in the second game of the suspension.
So it would take a minimum of halving the ban for Vinicius to play against the Blaugranas.
The next Real league games are away to Racing Santander and Valencia. He'll be available for the first game out next month's international break: Nov. 22 versus Celta Vigo.
