Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has upset some people with his take on Manchester City's 115 charges.

Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has become the latest to give his thoughts on Manchester City being found guilty of 114 financial breaches by the Premier League .

PSG will face Enzo Maresca's men at the Etihad Stadium in the Champions League on Wednesday night. The English club are in fine form, having won their opening league phase game and claiming maximum points in the Premier League .

However, there is still a lot of uncertainty surrounding the future of the 2023 Champions League winners. An appeal has been lodged, but sanctions if the guilty verdict sticks could include point deductions, fines and even relegation from the English top-flight.

It means there's a very real chance that this could be the Citizens' last European campaign for a while. But for now, Maresca's side are preparing to take on the back-to-back winners.

Both PSG and Man City are among the richest clubs in world football, and have built the foundations for their respective successes over many years. Enrique hopes that City receive a positive outcome, claiming they earned their triumphs on the pitch.

Speaking to the press before the Champions League tie on Wednesday night, the Spanish coach said (per the Independent ): "There is a lot of noise around Manchester City and there is often noise around big clubs. We have just have to wait and see what the final decision will be.

> "I hope everything works out well for Manchester City because I think what they have done on the pitch has been incredible over the last few years and they certainly deserved to win on the pitch all the trophies they have won. Now we have to wait to see what the authorities decide or the judge is going to say."

He added: "The trophies you win on the pitch remain on the pitch. They deserved to win that and I hope they can avoid the sanction. But we have to wait. The things I will say to Pep I will do in private."

Those comments have received a mixed reaction from supporters. Rival fans are too impressed, with one X user saying: "Shampions will defend each other. No surprise there."

Another opposed his view that City had legitimately earned their titles, saying: "No, they haven't. I am not sure what is so difficult here. They have cheated." One more fan stated: "Redundant coming from a PSG affiliate."

Meanwhile, Man City supporters have come out in support of Enrique's stance. "Build him a statue next to Pep," was the conclusion one drew.

One City fan confirmed his respect for the PSG coach, saying: "This is why Luis Enrique has my respect. While the noise continues, he recognises the greatness Manchester City have shown on the pitch and acknowledges what we’ve earned. Football people know football."
