The hours leading up to the match between Levante UD and Sevilla FC have descended into a street battle. Ultras from both teams have been involved in serious clashes in nearby streets, souring the football atmosphere long before a ball was kicked on the pitch.

According to initial reports and images shared on social media, the hardline supporters ended up in an all-out brawl. What began as an exchange of insults escalated rapidly into chairs, bottles and street furniture being thrown, spreading panic among fans passing through the area.

The National Police had to respond urgently, deploying large numbers of officers to the area. Their swift intervention allowed them to cordon off the perimeter, disperse those involved and bring the situation under control before fans' access to the stadium was seriously disrupted.

There are currently no official figures for injuries or arrests following the disturbances. However, security forces are already reviewing footage from witnesses and nearby cameras to identify those responsible for the brawl and impose the appropriate penalties.

The fixture, classified as high-risk, will see a heavy police presence throughout the day. With official statements from both clubs or the police still pending, the atmosphere remains tense in a build-up once again marred by the behaviour of hardline supporters.
