Man Utd Injury News: Mainoo and Shaw Doubts For Atletico Madrid Clash
· GiveMeSport
Manchester United have suffered a double injury blow ahead of their clash with Atletico Madrid.
Manchester United could be without Kobbie Mainoo and Luke Shaw for their trip to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
The Red Devils began their European campaign in convincing fashion back in September, beating minnows Sabah FK 4-0 at Old Trafford - a rare victory in a disastrous season for Michael Carrick's side so far. Saturday's disappointing draw with Tottenham Hotspur has mounted the pressure on Carrick, and thus, it's vital that his players return from the Wanda Metropolitano with a positive result.
This task may be made significantly more difficult without two key players. United have confirmed that Shaw is on a designated rest day on Monday, while Mainoo's absence from training hasn't been explained.
That said, Matthijs de Ligt, who hasn't played since November of last year, was pictured in training and could finally be nearing a return.
