Anthony Gordon scored his first Barcelona goal on Saturday in the 3-0 win over Getafe and was a happy man after finally finding the back of the net.

The England international has impressed since signing from Newcastle United in the summer and says the goal will give him a boost.

> “This is good for my confidence; I feel the fans’ support in the goal celebrations. The team always comes first. If it doesn’t go in, it’s not the end of the world; I go to sleep peacefully because I know the goals will eventually come ,” he told DAZN.

> “I’ve never seen a team like this. What this club has achieved is historic, with the goals. We’ve had a great start to the season, but we can’t get complacent. We have to keep scoring goals and defending well. ”

Barcelona’s start to the campaign has been perfect so far but the team faces a real test in the coming weeks due to a demanding fixture schedule.

Next up is a trip to Turkey to face Galatasaray in the Champions League; Barcelona then head back to Spain for a date with Real Betis next Saturday.
