Aston Villa in Talks Over 'Monster' 19-goal striker Kevin Viveros

· GiveMeSport

Aston Villa are still said to be pushing for the signing of in-form Colombian signing Kevin Viveros.

Aston Villa could be set to invest further into their striker position despite making a big signing in the form of Nicolas Jackson during the summer. The West Midlands have held long term interest in Colombian frontman Kevin Viveros, and they are not giving up on the chase yet.

Villa lost Ollie Watkins during the summer, and they decided to replace him with Jackson, who Unai Emery knows well from his Villarreal days. The early signs are that the signings will be a solid one, and Emery does have some good competition at the top of the pitch.

The experienced Tammy Abraham can offer that something different with his height and reach, while the young Brian Madjo looks as though he will contribute, playing well ahead of his years.

But according to a report from RTI Esporte , Villa remain interested in long term target Viveros, and they are now said to have reached out with fresh inquiries over the Athletico Paranaense frontman. It's added that Villa are considering an offer worth around €20million (£17.4million) for the forward.

The latest inquiries are said to have centred around understanding what a potential deal could look like for the 26-year-old forward. But the Brazilian club are said to be hoping to land around €30million euros, which works out at around €26million.

Viveros is under contract until 2028, and there are said to have been some early conversations about the possibility of a new contract.

January could be the best chance Villa get to sign Viveros, given the Brazilian season has finished, but much could come down to how big a role Madjo has. Signing a fourth striker could mean Madjo has to go out on loan in the winter window, but if the young talent has a big impact before then, Villa may reconsider their desire to sign another senior frontman in the winter.

Viveros' Paranaense boss Odair Hellmann said back in March:

> "He's a beast, a monster. He's evolved a lot technically, he has room to evolve even more, and he's very humble. He's introverted, but he's very humble. For a guy who has already achieved what he has in Brazilian football and for Athletico, he has a lot of humility.

> "He's annoying, but he's humble and hardworking.

> "That's why he's achieved what he has.scored 20 goals and assisted four so far this season, which started early in the year, and he recently won his Colombia senior debut.
