Andres Iniesta has admitted that coaching Pedri would be a pleasure, offering a glimpse into a possible future reunion between two Barcelona midfielders whose playing styles have drawn comparisons for years.

The former Barcelona and Spain legend has started his managerial career, taking charge of Gulf United FC in Dubai.

While his immediate focus is on learning the trade, Iniesta has not ruled out managing Barcelona one day, although he insists there is no rush to make that ambition a reality.

Iniesta on coaching Barcelona star Pedri

Pedri has frequently been compared to Iniesta because of his close control, awareness and ability to dictate play in tight spaces.

The admiration is mutual, and Iniesta has welcomed the current Barcelona midfielder’s appreciation of his career.

Asked about the prospect of working with Pedri, the former Spain international said,

> “It would be a pleasure. For a player as talented as Pedri to say he looks up to me is a wonderful thing.”

Notably, Iniesta has also praised Pedri before , highlighting how effortlessly the 23-year-old makes difficult actions appear simple.

“He is a player who, when you watch him on television, amazes you with what he does, and with how easy, simple and natural he makes it look,” he noted.

Iniesta addresses possibility of becoming Barcelona manager

Although a future coaching role at Barcelona would represent a significant chapter in his career, Iniesta is not treating it as an immediate objective.

While addressing the possibility, he noted, “As a player at Barcelona, I achieved everything I could ever have dreamed of.

> “If I were to manage the team one day – which is still a long way off – that would be a whole new chapter.

> “I’m not worried about it, nor am I in any hurry to take on that role.

> “What I’ve experienced as a player is something that can never be repeated.”

Could Pedri work with Iniesta at Barcelona one day?

The idea of Iniesta coaching Pedri is an appealing prospect for Barcelona fans, given the similarities between their footballing instincts.

However, the former midfielder has made clear that a return as manager remains a distant possibility rather than a concrete plan.

For now, Iniesta’s attention will be on his first coaching role, which has not started well, with the former midfielder losing both of his games with Gulf United FC so far.
