Manchester United vs Sabah - Champions League RECAP: Four different scorers help hosts record comfortable win
· DailyMail
Re-live Daily Mail Sport's live blog of Manchester United's Champions League return, as Michael Carrick's side took on Sabah of Azerbaijan at Old Trafford.
Right then guys! That's it from us here.
Thanks for all your company tonight. And congratulations to United fans.
Another successful night of football around the globe. United win, Bayern Munich win... even Stevenage managed to beat Luton in League One.
We'll be back this weekend for more Premier League coverage, but, in the meantime, allow me to leave you with Chris Wheeler's take from Old Trafford.
Thanks all! Bye!
Another goal for Bruno Fernandes tonight, who continues to prove to be the absolute anchor of this United side.
Not bad company.
Marcus Rashford didn't get on the pitch tonight. But he has had a good start to the season for United.
Some, though, didn't expect him to be there at all. Having spent last year on loan at Barcelona, the Spanish side opted not to make his move permanent, instead moving for Anthony Gordon.
Deco has explained why Anthony Gordon was deemed the 'best fit' for Barcelona following his £70million move from Newcastle United this summer.
United's Under-19 side were in youth league action a little earlier today too - and they beat Sabah 5-0.
A certain JJ Gabriel netted a hat-trick. He is rated very highly around these parts.
Such a long way to go - but here's the current table following the first round of games, courtesy of our friends at TNT Sports.
It makes good reading for United and their fans!
As for Sabah... their defence was leaky, but they showed a positive approach, pressing high, and did have their chances. On another day, they take them.
They will most likely go out in the league phase, but don't rule them out. They have games against the likes of Slavia Prague and Viking to come - but also Arsenal, Barcelona and Napoli. It will be quite the experience for them.
A team on the up with a great story.
Three games to go for United before the international break, then - and you don't need me to tell you how big Sunday's game is.
They will be back at Old Trafford for the derby against Manchester City on Sunday afternoon, and it promises to be a classic - you can follow it all on Daily Mail Sport.
After that, they will take on Brighton in the Carabao Cup in midweek, before ending the first section of the season away to Fulham.
My colleague Chris Wheeler has been on hand to pen his take on tonight.
I think he sums it up quite well. A routine win, some standout individual performances - but tougher tests to come.
