Dani Olmo is an important player for both FC Barcelona and the Spain national team. The 28-year-old midfielder is enjoying a strong spell of form, which has inevitably increased his profile and attracted attention in the transfer market.
Indeed, there has been renewed interest from Germany, with Bayern Munich once again monitoring the Spanish playmaker after previously exploring a move for him during his time at RB Leipzig.
In fact, reports suggest that the Bundesliga champions are considering making a big offer for the Barcelona midfielder in the January transfer window.
No exit plans
However, according to MARCA , if Bayern Munich do proceed to table an offer to Barcelona for Olmo, it will not be considered.
That is because, Olmo has no intention of leaving the Blaugrana , while the club also have no plans to sell their playmaker.
The midfielder has been one of European football’s most highly rated and sought-after midfielders for several seasons, thanks to his technical quality and versatile nature.
Olmo impressed during his time in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig, just as he did in Croatia with Dinamo Zagreb, and he has continued to perform at the Spotify Camp Nou.
The Spaniard has already made 96 appearances for Barcelona, scoring 20 goals and providing 20 assists.
Bayern have admired Olmo for years
Bayern know Olmo’s quality well having closely followed him since his time in the Bundesliga.
The German champions already explored the possibility of signing him while he was at RB Leipzig and have continued to follow his development at Barça under Hansi Flick and with the Spanish national team.
For now, though, neither Olmo nor Barcelona have officially been informed of Bayern’s interest.
More importantly, the playmaker is under contract with Barcelona until June 2030 and has no plans to change clubs.
Olmo has shared the attacking midfield role with Fermin Lopez this season and has featured in all eight matches so far, seven in La Liga and one in the Champions League.
Despite not being a guaranteed starter, the 2026 World Cup winner is happy at Barça and has no desire to leave the Spotify Camp Nou. His priority is to continue playing and winning trophies with his boyhood club.
