According to Javi Miguel of AS , FC Barcelona captain Raphinha has no intention of missing out on the team’s upcoming game against Getafe after the long international break.

The winger left the Brazil national team camp after suffering an minor injury in his right thigh during their second friendly in Australia.

Tests carried out after his return to Barcelona ruled out any significant injury, allowing the player to breathe a sigh of relief.

During the first days of this week, Raphinha has been going to the Ciutat Esportiva for intensive physiotherapy treatment aimed at reducing the swelling.

If there are no setbacks, the forward could return to group training on Thursday, coinciding with the arrival of the Spanish internationals after the culmination of the international break.

Flick must decide how much risk to take

The main question is what manager Hansi Flick intends to do with Raphinha ahead of Saturday’s match against Getafe.

Everything points towards the Brazilian potentially starting on the bench and coming on in the second half, with the German tactician unlikely to risk anything, especially with a tough schedule ahaed.

However, given the captain’s commitment and desire to play, a place in the starting XI cannot be ruled out entirely.

Even so, knowing Flick’s zero-risk approach, the most logical option would be for Raphinha to begin as a substitute. That would give Gabriel Jesus the opportunity to make his first start in a Barcelona shirt.

Joan Garcia and Eric Garcia also available

Meanwhile, Joan Garcia is also expected to be available for Saturday’s match against Getafe.

The goalkeeper has been recovering from an injury in his right knee since 16 September and returned to group training today without apparently experiencing any discomfort.

His progress over the next two days will nevertheless be important as his workload increases.

Another player Flick should be able to count on against Getafe is Eric Garcia , who has recovered from an overload that forced him to leave the Spain camp.

The defender will, however, still need to wear protective face mask when he plays.
