The latest Manchester United round-up includes details of JJ Gabriel's meeting
The uncertain future of JJ Gabriel remains a constant source of discussion at Manchester United. The young sensation - who turned 16 years old on Tuesday - asked to leave the club in September and despite United initially not ruling out the prospect of him staying, he reportedly remains set on a departure.
Gabriel's situation has only added to the disappointment and discontent at Old Trafford after a dismal start to the 2026/27 season. Michael Carrick's side have won just one of their opening five league games and were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Brighton.
The Red Devils are back in action on Saturday against Tottenham and will do so with the knowledge that Gabriel's camp conducted a key meeting earlier this week. Meanwhile, Paul Scholes has hit back at his ex-rival over the chaos surrounding Manchester City.

JJ Gabriel meeting held
JJ Gabriel remains keen on leaving Manchester United and has held a meeting with Bayern Munich over a potential move. The 16-year-old starlet asked to quit the Red Devils last month in a shocking turn of events, given the high esteem United holds the young forward in.
Some of Europe's biggest clubs hold an interest in the teenager and it's the Bundesliga champions who held talks with Gabriel's camp on Monday, according to Sky Germany. The likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and PSG are also said to be monitoring his situation.
Gabriel has decided his future is away from Old Trafford after what his camp has reportedly perceived as broken promises over playing time. The youngster's representatives wanted him to play at least 20 minutes in United's games against Sabah, Brighton and Bournemouth before discussing a scholarship deal.
Paul Scholes admission
Manchester City being found guilty of breaching the Premier League's financial rules over a nine-year period has led many to question what a suitable punishment would be for the league leaders. According to Man United icon Paul Scholes, stripping them of the titles they won between 2009 and 2018 and retroactively awarding those who finished second at that time will be the right move.
City won the Premier League for the first time in the 2011/12 season after finishing ahead of United on goal difference on the final day of the season. Scholes played 17 games that season and took to X to write: "Keep hearing ex-teammates say they want trophies taken off them, but they don't want their medals... f that, I'm a greedy b, I want my medal."
Scholes, 51, would earn a 12th league medal in that case, which Arsenal legend Martin Keown claimed would be "hollow". He said on talkSPORT: "Receiving another medal is a bit hollow. How many does he need? He’s got a dozen or so already, but I can’t tell him how to behave or think.
"For me, I just think it should be void. I think if we’re going to take away Man City’s trophies throughout that period it should be made void." Scholes wasn't a fan of Keown's stance and hit back at his former rival by commenting on Instagram: "And you can do one with that ‘void season’ nonsense."
