Joan Laporta did not spare Real Madrid. Present in Copenhagen on the occasion of the Assembly of European Football Clubs (EFC), the president of FC Barcelona strongly criticized the Madrid rival for its attitude in the Negreira affair. “ What we cannot accept is that they are ignoring the truth and that every time they intervene publicly, they attack Barça », he declared reports Marca. The Catalan leader especially attacked Real's decision to become a party in this affair: “ They intervened in the Negreira affair, in our opinion, only to prolong the affair and justify the actions of their television and a speech that they predetermined. »

Laporta also confirmed that the conflict had completely deteriorated relations between the two clubs. “ With Madrid, you know that relations are broken. This is where there is confrontation and the existing relationship is void “, he insisted, while demanding that certain statements about Barça be corrected. A situation unlike that with Atlético de Madrid. After the tensions of the summer, Laporta found Miguel Ángel Gil Marín in Copenhagen and ensures that the two men ironed out the differences before resuming their good relationship.
