A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona was responsible for a moment of individual brilliance in the attacking third this week.
This came during the Nations League meeting between Portugal and Norway, courtesy of João Cancelo.
Versatile full-back Cancelo is for his part currently in the midst of an outstanding stretch of individual form. After closing out his endeavours with Barcelona prior to the international break with a stunning brace against Racing Santander, the 32-year-old was back on the scoresheet again last week, as Portugal got the better of Denmark.
And as alluded to above, late last night, Cancelo was back at it once again…
With Jorge Jesus’ troops trailing by a goal to nil in a Nations League clash with Norway, the former Manchester City and Juventus man was picked out on the edge of the visitors’ penalty area.
And from here, Cancelo showcased all of his technical excellence, directing a sumptuous right-footed strike into the roof of the Norwegian net.
Check out the defender’s latest wonderful goal from the 27-second mark in the video below:
> CRIKEY!! Two defenders, two WORLDIES!! Arguably two of the best goals of this round of @UEFA Nations League matches as Portugal hosted Norway
