Leeds Manager Daniel Farke Could Unleash Alfie Cresswell

· GiveMeSport

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke could be about to unleash the next Archie Gray and Ethan Ampadu at Elland Road.

Leeds got off to a strong start to the season in the Premier League, which gives Farke the opportunity to rotate and try new things over the coming weeks and months.

The Leeds boss hasn't deployed too many academy stars since they returned to the Premier League, which is no surprise given the pressure he's been under to avoid relegation.

Having a bit of breathing space between them and the bottom three could give Farke the freedom to unleash some of his youngsters.

Leeds' three-at-the-back system could mean there's an opportunity for a centre-back to come into the team, especially if they start to pick up any injuries.

The Daily Mail have released a feature which focuses on some of the young talents around the Premier League who could be given an opportunity this season.

Leeds have one representative on the list: youngster Alfie Cresswell, who is the brother of Charlie Cresswell, who left Leeds for Toulouse in 2024, while his father, Richard Cresswell, joined the club in 2005.

Journalist Tom Collomosse has claimed that he believes there is a strong likelihood he will make his Premier League debut this season, with Cresswell being hugely admired by manager Farke.

Farke believes that Cresswell is capable of operating on the right of a back three, though he's mostly played as a central midfielder during his time with the Leeds under-21s.

It's claimed that his senior debut could be close, given his rapid progress.

Cresswell is very similar to current midfielder Ampadu. The two of them are both leaders, with Cresswell captaining the under-21s at times, while they are also both capable of playing in midfield and defence.

Leeds must be looking to build around midfielder Ethan Ampadu.

Cresswell also shares similarities to former Leeds midfielder Gray, who joined Tottenham a few years ago.

Just like Ampadu, both players are capable of playing in midfield and in defence, while Gray is also someone who comes from a family with plenty of Leeds connections.

Gray also has the leadership qualities that Cresswell shares, given he's already captained Tottenham at times despite being such a young age.

Leeds certainly have high hopes for Cresswell, and they'll be hoping he develops into a player who can reach the levels of the likes of Ampadu and Gray.

Whether he can become a Leeds club captain like Ampadu or be sold for a huge profit like Gray, either way, that will be a huge boost to Leeds in the future.
