Pep Guardiola Breaks Silence After Man City Are Found Guilty of Breaching Financial Rules
· GiveMeSport
Pep Guardiola has broken his silence on the Premier League rules Manchester City have now been found guilty of breaking.
Manager Pep Guardiola has spoken out on the Manchester City verdict for the first time since his former club were found to have broken Premier League rules.
An independent Commission deemed Man City guilty of all charges relating to serious breaches of the Premier League’s financial rules . It's been deemed that the Etihad outfit used ‘sham’ contracts to artificially inflate the club’s revenues and reduce costs between 2009 and 2018. While they were then significantly in breach of both the Premier League’s and UEFA’s spending limits, they concealed the truth and failed to co-operate with the investigation.
Guardiola took charge of Man City in 2016 and went on to win six Premier League titles with the English club. He then left at the end of the 2025/26 season, just months before City became aware of the verdict .
In a statement shared via his official Instagram account, linked to the official Manchester City account, Guardiola said:
> "I want every single Manchester City fan across the world to know I am here; more than ever. I am, always have been, always will, be behind my club, my owner, my chairman, Ferran, the players, staff, Enzo and you, our unique supporters. Let me be clear: we will get through this together. I love you all."
