Man City Knew About 114 Guilty Verdicts During £450m Summer Transfer Window

Man City's 114 guilty verdicts were made public last week, but it has now emerged that the club knew during the summer.

Manchester City were made aware of the verdicts in their case with the Premier League as long ago as July 2026, according to journalist Rob Dawson.

City have been battling with the Premier League for several years over 115 charges related to financial breaches, and it was revealed last week that the club have been found guilty on 'virtually all' of those offences, with 114 guilty verdicts returned .

There has been no official communication from the Premier League at this stage, but Man City owner Khaldoon Al Mubarak has continued to insist on the club's innocence, and GIVEMESPORT sources understand that they are ready to appeal as a result.

GIVEMESPORT senior football correspondent Ben Jacobs has reported that City could face being 'kicked out of football' as a result of the charges, with the Premier League and EFL understood to be aligned on what the punishment should be.

However, with no sanctions handed out yet, it remains unclear what will happen to City going forward, and how their crimes from the 2009-2018 period will affect their honours, including three Premier League titles, during that time period.

But while the news became public knowledge last week, it has now been revealed that Man City were made aware of the verdicts as long ago as July, while the transfer window was still open.

City chiefs were told of the verdict in July, as the club went on to have a record-breaking summer transfer window - spending over £450m on new players for new manager Enzo Maresca.

ESPN report that the £116m deal for Elliot Anderson was agreed before they were told of the charges, with that deal announced as being agreed on July 2 before he officially signed on July 23.

But City went on to break their transfer record again, spending £125m to sign Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea, while they also brought in Ayyoub Bouaddi (£87m), Iliman Ndiaye (£60m), Allan (£34m), Mathys Detourbet (£20m), Jeremy Monga (£10m), Geronimo Rulli (£3m), and Pierce Charles (£3m).

Man City Transfers Summer 2026

City have always denied all the charges brought against them, and they have continued to maintain their innocence in public despite the guilty verdicts.

In a club statement released last Friday, City said:

> "The Premier League process remains ongoing, with significant elements to be completed, and subject to strict confidentiality.

> "As such Manchester City FC's position remains consistent with the club's statement of February 2023.

> "The club has diligently respected due process for eight years on the basis that the Premier League Board and Executive would behave as an independent, impartial and fair-minded regulator, free from partisan influence."

The Premier League have so far not commented publicly on the case.
