Former England international predicts the team each Manchester City star will join if the club is relegated to League Two
A former England international has named the teams he expects every Manchester City star to join if the club is relegated from the Premier League .
City have been found guilty of 114 of the Premier League’s 115 charges, plunging the club’s future into doubt.
Relegation from the Premier League is just one of the various potential punishments currently being discussed by the media and fans alike. Other potential punishments include hefty fines and huge points deductions.
Former Man City and England defender Danny Mills has suggested a unique punishment where City are forced to start each of the next nine seasons on minus 20 points.
While the debate rages on among the wider football community, City are appealing against the initial decision, with the club’s CEO Ferran Soriano insisting the fight against the Premier League could take years to conclude.
Ex-England and Aston Villa forward Gabby Agbonlahor has revealed the clubs he expected each Man City star end up signing for if the club is relegated. Let’s take a closer look…
> Agbonlahor: “I’m going to start with the goalkeeper. I’ve been watching [Senne] Lammens, poor at the World Cup, he cost Belgium in that game. I don’t think he’s been great this season. I’m not convinced by him. I would say Donnarumma to Manchester United.”
> Agbonlahor: “Ruben Dias is not the same Ruben Dias from three or four years ago. I would say Saudi Arabia - go and sign with Cristiano Ronaldo [at Al-Nassr], your Portuguese teammate. Set off into the sunset. I just think it makes sense at his age.”
> Agbonlahor: “Marc Guehi, I think he’ll come to Aston Villa, Champions League football. We’ll have you over. He can compete with Pau Torres, [Tyrone] Mings, [Taylor] Harwood-Bellis and [Victor] Lindelof.
> Agbonlahor: “Ait-Nouri… I’m saying Spurs. They’ve got [Andy] Robertson and [Destiny] Udogie but they need competition for places.”
> Agbonlahor: “Gvardiol… Barcelona. Barcelona always need cover in defence. That’s one of the weak parts of their team.”
> Agbonlahor: “Nico O’Reilly, I say Liverpool - they’re dying for a left-back. [Konstantinos] Tsimikas is their second choice, [Milos] Kerkez hasn’t been at the level. I think that’d be a great move for O’Reilly.”
> Agbonlahor: “Khusanov, I’d say Bayern Munich. I see him as a Vincent Kompany sort of player - aggressive like Vincent Kompany, he’s got the speed as well. I can see him in a Bayern Munich shirt.”
> Agbonlahor: “Rico Lewis… I think he’ll stay. City through and through. I think he’ll stay and bring them back to the Premier League from League Two.”
> Agbonlahor: “Elliot Anderson… Manchester United wanted you. Now you go to them. Maybe for half the price.”
> Agbonlahor: “Kovacic, into his 30s, I’ll say Saudi Arabia for him.”
> Agbonlahor: “Rayan Cherki, Real Madrid - simple. [Zinedine] Zidane would definitely advise him to go to Real Madrid.”
> Agbonlahor: “Enzo Fernandez… Bayern Munich. I can picture him there.”
> Agbonlahor: “Matheus Nunes… I’ll say Aston Villa. He’s versatile, can play at right-back, competition for [Aaron] Wan-Bissaka.”
> Agbonlahor: “Bouaddi… PSG. I like him a lot and think he’ll suit PSG.”
> Agbonlahor: “Phil Foden, I think he stays, City through and through. I think he’ll stay, fight it out and get City back into the Premier League.”
> Agbonlahor: “Ndiaye… I’m saying Chelsea. Chelsea could do with another attacker in there.”
> Agbonlahor: “Erling Haaland… this is a no brainer: Real Madrid. I can picture him there, the main man, [Kylian] Mbappe off him, Cherki off him, [Jude] Bellingham, Vinicius Jr…”
> Agbonlahor: “Jeremy Doku, Arsenal. Arsenal need a left-winger, a different option to [Christos] Tzolis.”
> Agbonlahor: “Semenyo to Liverpool. He walks into their side on the left or right-hand side. He’s the perfect player for Liverpool”
