Tottenham Boss De Zerbi Made Huge Error Selling Luka Vuskovic

· GiveMeSport

Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi must regret selling Luka Vuskovic as Spurs struggle in the Premier League.

Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi made a huge mistake in the summer transfer window, and he must be regretting it now with his side at the bottom of the Premier League table.

It was an incredibly busy summer window for Spurs, hitting double figures for players brought in. So far, it's certainly not worked out for them, but it was always going to take time for some of the new additions to settle in.

In terms of outgoings, Tottenham let a number of players head through the exit door.

Luka Vuskovic, Cristian Romero, Djed Spence, and Kevin Danso are among those to have departed during the summer transfer window.

De Zerbi doesn't appear to be the type who regrets allowing players to head through the exit door, but he's surely made a huge mistake with one of the players he let depart.

One player De Zerbi must regret letting go is Brighton defender Vuskovic. The Croatian international is a regular starter for his country and has slotted straight in with the Seagulls.

Vuskovic was always an incredibly highly rated talent, bursting onto the scene in the Bundesliga, but Spurs opted to let him go.

Reports emerged at the time of the sale that De Zerbi was the one who was happy to allow Vuskovic to depart , disagreeing with some Spurs chiefs that he should stay.

The Tottenham boss must surely be regretting that decision now, as there's no doubt he would be an instant starter for them.

Spurs could have saved themselves a lot of money by keeping Vuskovic and giving him a starting role rather than signing Jan-Paul van Hecke.

Chris Sutton already labelled Vuskovic a 'masterstroke' signing from Brighton , and now Spurs are sitting at the bottom of the Premier League table, they could certainly do with a player of his calibre at the back.

Tottenham are being linked with a move to sign Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jae.

De Zerbi having a huge say in which players leave and which players are signed can be a strategy that comes back to bite Tottenham.

The Spurs boss might not be thinking as long-term as the directors at the club, allowing young players to depart while bringing in more ready-made additions.

Someone like Vuskovic, De Zerbi clearly felt he was a player with potential rather than someone who can make an immediate impact.

Managers often think more short-term, knowing they might not be in a job for very long.

The sale of Vuskovic could come back to bite Tottenham, and it's a clear reason why Spurs shouldn't give too much control to the manager.
