How Man City staff have reacted internally to the club being found guilty of 114 charges.

Manchester City have been dealt a major blow today, as they were found guilty on 114 charges of breaching the Premier League's financial fair play rules.

The Blues were officially given 115 charges of breaching financial fair play rules in 2023, and after a two-year process, a guilty verdict was finally given to the side this afternoon.

Whilst City haven't yet confirmed whether the news is true, the club do have a right to appeal any charges, which can drag out the process even further, meaning possible sanctions could not be imposed for some time.

Sanctions could range from sporting related to financial related, and some staff working at the club are already worried for what the future looks like at the club and whether they are safe or not.

With the Premier League starting next month, key information on the case has emerged.

With the club set to dealt with some big sanctions, whether it be sporting or financial, there will be a lot of money lost at the Etihad and costs may have to be cut in order to deal with the charges.

Some players may have to be sold, some may even want to leave upon hearing the guilty verdict, and potentially some wages may have to be lowered to keep up with the punishments dealt to them.

According to Martyn Ziegler of the Times , the atmosphere at the City Football Academy this afternoon was 'very solemn', with staff asking their superiors what kind of punishment the club could be receiving and how that could possibly impact them. Many are reportedly fearful of losing their jobs, whilst some are angry that executives at the club at the time will not front up and speak publicly.

If a situation like this were to occur, it could still be some time away in the future, as any possible sanctions will take some time to be imposed, considering that the club will likely want to appeal any punishments.

The Prime Minister was asked for his opinion immediately after the punishment was announced, and he gave his thoughts straight away...

Whilst there has been limited reaction from the Premier League and Manchester City, with the Blues refusing to state whether they had been informed of a decision, other figures in the scene have given their thoughts.

City released a statement saying, "The Premier League process remains ongoing, with significant elements to be completed and is subject to strict confidentiality."

Old comments from previous coach Pep Guardiola have resurfaced following the news, when he said: "When they (the club) are accused of something, I ask them: 'tell me about that.'

> They explain and I believe them. I said to them: "If you lie to me, the day after I am not here.'"

Current City boss Enzo Maresca also released a cryptic message via Instagram around the same time as the news broke out that the club had been guilty.

His post via Instagram read: "Time to breathe. Time to analyse. Time to learn."

His comments have come to light following the outcome of the independent commission's hearing today...
