Everton have landed fellow Premier League side Newcastle in the next round of the Carabao Cup.
The fourth round of the competition takes place the week commencing October 26.

Dibling’s progression at Everton hailed as he shines in win over Wolves
Everton assistant manager Alan Irvine believes Tyler Dibling is starting to look like he belongs at the club after a difficult first season.
The 20-year-old was named player of the match in the 1-0 Carabao Cup third-round victory over Wolves after comfortably his best performance of a stuttering first 13 months of his Toffees career.
He provided the assist for Charly Alcaraz to score three minutes after coming on, but his overall display was more akin to what Everton were expecting when they signed him for £42m from Southampton.
> “Since he came back for pre-season he looks like he belongs here, he looks more comfortable,” said Irvine.
> “He is a very quiet lad and it can sometimes take young lads time to settle in, especially at a club like this with the expectation so that was probably difficult for him last year.
> “I said to him before the game ‘You’ve been waiting patiently – or impatiently – and you’ve now got your chance and now you must take that opportunity. Make sure the manager has a tough decision to make for the next game’ and he’s done that.
> “You saw a little moment of that acceleration he has got and he doesn’t show enough of those moments and he needs to be doing more.
> “I’ve spent a bit of time with Tyler and Tyrique (George) this pre-season trying to get them to contribute more than previously and there are certainly signs that is coming.”
Alcaraz is something of a forgotten man having previously played just 14 minutes this season but with a thin squad everyone will need to contribute.
> “Absolutely thrilled for Charly. He trains well every day, he is massively disappointed whenever he is not in the team, as you’d want players to be,” Irvine added.
> “When he’s had his chance tonight he got the goal and everybody is delighted for him.”

Moyes hoping 'Everton DNA' can give them edge in Carabao Cup
David Moyes hopes the “Everton DNA” can keep giving them a resilient edge as attention turns to the Carabao Cup.
The threadbare Toffees have impressively parked their transfer window frustration during a solid start to the Premier League season.
Everton’s 0-0 draw at Tottenham continued their unbeaten start to the campaign ahead of Wednesday’s Carabao Cup third round clash against Wolves.
Boss Moyes said after the Spurs stalemate: “There’s a wee bit of Everton DNA where have to find ways.
> “We have a terrific goalkeeper, a back four who does well. We know exactly where we’re short and what we could do better at and what we’d like to do better at.
> “But when we were forced into it by Tottenham, I thought we did a really good job of being resilient, hard to score against.
> “Our goalie didn’t have too many saves to make with a few blocks, few corners we had to defend, but overall I thought we’d done a pretty good job.”
Moyes backs Branthwaite for England
David Moyes has backed Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite to earn an England call-up.
Left-footed centre-back Branthwaite continued his fine start to the new season with another assured display in a 0-0 draw at Tottenham on Saturday.
Branthwaite endured an injury-hit 2025-26 campaign, but has looked back to his best in recent weeks and Moyes believes he could be named in Thomas Tuchel’s squad on Friday for the upcoming Nations League fixtures.
> “I think England have got some brilliant centre halves,” Moyes said.
> “You’re talking about (Marc) Guehi, (Levi) Colwill and (Ezri) Konsa, you can name a few that are really good, but Jarrad is a really good player.
> “I think he has far more to come. I think he is still finding his way after his injury and it would be great if he gets called up.
> “I want my players to get called up for their country because that means that they are doing well, the team is doing well and Jimmy Garner at the end of last year got called up with a chance of going to the World Cup.
> “I hope they do and one or two others are playing well. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has had a really good start to the season as well.”
Moyes pleased with Toffees' resilience but wanted more from Spurs draw
Everton boss David Moyes admitted he wanted to see more from his side during their 0-0 draw with Tottenham.
Everton have had a poor record away from home against Spurs, last beating them in London in 2020.
As a result, Moyes wanted his side to show more of themselves, but was still pleased with the resilience they showed.
> "We were under the cosh from the first minute. But the players stuck at it," Moyes told Sky Sports at full-time.
> "Tottenham were desperately looking for a win. As were we but them being at home put us under the pressure. We coped brilliantly well. I don't think the goalkeeper had many saves to make. We had to fill the box and reduce the spaces for them. Tottenham played well and made it difficult for us.
> "We have been playing a lot better than we were today. We had chances to do better with the ball. It's not our best game with the ball today, that is for sure."
> "With the boys at the back and the goalkeeper, there is real resilience to make sure we do not concede any goals. The goalkeeper has got a great record for clean sheets and he got one today as well.
> "What excites me is that I have a job to try and prove a few wrong. We have had to come from behind because we don't have all the tools to challenge the top teams. We have had to fight for everything in the league. We have shown we can do that too.
> "I might have rather had £300-400m that Tottenham had to spend. But if you have not got that, you need to find a way to try and get a result, to win or take something from the games."
Pickford becomes fifth English goalkeeper to reach 100 PL clean sheets
Jordan Pickford became the fifth English goalkeeper to reach a century of Premier League clean sheets during Everton's 0-0 draw with Tottenham.
Pickford moves alongside the likes of Joe Hart, Nigel Martyn, David Seaman and David James in reaching the milestone. He is also the 19th in Premier League history to achieve the landmark, putting him behind Liverpool's Alisson.
REPORT: Winless Spurs fail to score again in Everton stalemate

Jones Knows: Anyone for a 0-0?
Sky Sports' betting expert Lewis Jones:
As a bettor you simply must be opposing Tottenham's attacking volume until we start to see some evidence that Roberto De Zerbi has fixed their issues. Spurs are still waiting for their first goal of the season which means it's now been 317 minutes of Premier League action since scoring against Everton in May. They've never failed to score in each of their first four league games of a season before, so some more unwanted history could be around the corner.
Interestingly for assessing the goal line, Everton's attack ranks similarly over the first three games to Spurs, in terms of the quality of chances created. This stinks of an under 2.5 goals game at 5/6 with Sky Bet.
SCORE PREDICTION: 0-0
Moyes on challenge facing Everton at Spurs
David Moyes on the challenge that awaits them at Spurs on Saturday in mind of the previous meeting that secured Spurs’ survival on the final day:
> “I think assessing that one game on its own wouldn't be the right thing to do. When you think about what the crowd was like, the velocity to get a result on the day. I think it was a different Spurs on that last day than maybe it is at the moment. But since then, Spurs have spent lots of money and brought in players to try and make sure they're not in that position again.
> “It wasn't too long ago at this club that we were in those sort of situations regularly, trying to win games and being put in the position of cup final. We can only look after ourselves.”
Moyes: A small squad can be a positive, look at Leicester winning league!
David Moyes speaking at his press conference:
> "I think that a small group together, the tightness which can happen. Look at Leicester City winning the league a few years ago and what it was like. It looked like a small group of players who had done that.
> "It's probably less and less likely because of the way the games, the extra Champions League games, the extra international games means you need the extra players in your squad.
> "We've not got European football this year, so maybe we can find a way of getting through with what we've got at the moment."
Moyes: We're looking at free transfers
David Moyes on the prospect of signing someone on a free transfer to help bolster squad numbers:
> "Of course we're looking to see if there's anything which could be of any use. But I think to be at the level we're at, to get someone who would really make a big difference, it's not an easy thing to pluck from that transfer group."
Moyes: Norgaard remains out, we're disappointed
David Moyes on Christian Norgaard's injury woes which will keep him out until after the international break:
> “Norgaard is still unavailable, we’ll expect him back after the international break. We didn’t expect it to be as long as this. Huge importance to the team. We need his experience and nous. Disappointed not to get him on the grass.”
'Grealish ready to start at Spurs'
David Moyes says Jack Grealish is ready to play from the start when Everton face Tottenham on Saturday - a game live on Sky Sports.
Grealish was given a cameo from the bench in the 2-2 draw with Manchester United and made an impact despite a lack of game time following his move from Manchester City.
Moyes said: “Jack is ready to play. He needs football games more than training, needs game time to get near his best. In ways that's him still building up to get to his best. Beginning to look like he’s ready to start. It’s incredibly exciting if he gives us what he did at the start of last season.”
Barry not feeling the pressure of being Everton's main man
Thierno Barry insists he does not feel the pressure of being the only recognised striker in Everton's squad.
Barry has got four goals so far this term - something it took him until January to do last season.
> "The start of the season is better for me than last season," Barry told Sky Sports' Johnny Phillips.
> "I have played more games and I have scored some goals. I am very happy with the start as long as the team don’t lose.
> "I think it’s a big role [for me] now, but I don’t feel the pressure.
> "I just keep working and try to push to score in the game that I play and I try to do my best."
George: We need to show courage this season
Tyrique George is not getting carried away despite his sensational goal in Everton's 2-2 draw against Manchester United.
George levelled the game at 1-1 with a rasping effort that beat Manchester United goalkeeper Serge Lammens at his near post.
> “It was decent," George told Sky Sports' Johnny Phillips.
> "In the Manchester United game, we showed the courage and the mentality to get back into the game. I feel like we’ll need that for the whole season.
> "I'm just taking things game-by-game. There will be ups and down throughout the season, but I just want to continue.
> "The gaffer trusts me at the moment, and it’s really good to play for him and play for the club.
> "The fans are top. They always give us energy and confidence especially at the Hill Dickinson. I just want to repay them."
