Former Aston Villa and Wolves forward Jordan Graham is receiving 'specialist' treatment in hospital following a serious road traffic accident earlier this month.

A statement issued by the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA), on behalf of Graham's family, read:

> "Earlier this month Jordan Graham was involved in a serious road traffic accident and is currently receiving specialist treatment in hospital. His family are incredibly grateful for the care he is receiving. > > "They respectfully ask for privacy and that people refrain from contacting them directly while they focus entirely on Jordan and his recovery. Further information will only be provided when appropriate."

Graham, 31, came through the ranks at Aston Villa and signed a two-year professional contract in March 2012. But he didn't make a single first-team appearance for the Villans, spending time out on loan at Ipswich Town, Bradford City and Wolves before making the permanent move to Molineux in January 2015.

He struggled for regular game time at Wolves and once again went out on loan to Oxford United, Fulham, Ipswich for a second time, and Gillingham. After making just 17 senior appearances across five years, Graham's time at Wolves came to an end in May 2020 as he left the club at the end of his contract.

The Coventry-born forward went on to return to Gillingham on a permanent deal and starred in his first full season at the Kent club, scoring 13 times in 44 appearances. That form helped him earn a move back to the Championship as Birmingham City secured his services in June 2021 on a two-year contract.

A statement from Gillingham said:

> "Everyone at the club is thinking of Jordan and his family at this time. > > "We wish him a full and swift recovery."
