Fulham vs Man Utd: Benjamin Sesko Suffers Shin Injury

· GiveMeSport

Manchester United's Benjamin Sesko misses Fulham match due to a shin injury, as confirmed by journalist Steven Railston.

Manchester United forward Benjamin Sesko is believed to be missing from the squad to face Fulham due to a shin injury, according to journalist Steven Railston.

Sesko missed large portions of pre-season due to injury and has struggled to get going so far this campaign.

The former RB Leipzig striker has struggled to start regularly under Michael Carrick this season, predominantly being utilised off the bench.

Sesko did start United's game against Brighton in the Carabao Cup during the week, but he is yet to start in the Premier League this campaign.

Injuries and fitness have halted his progress this season, and it now looks as though he could have taken another step back after he wasn't named in the squad to face Fulham in the Premier League on Sunday.

According to Railston, Sesko could be out with the same shin injury that kept him out all across the summer, with Michael Carrick set to explain ahead of kick-off.

It's unclear how long Sesko is going to be out for, but with a three-week international break ahead, it comes at an ideal time as far as injuries are concerned.

Sesko's injury does potentially raise further concerns about some of the decisions United made during the summer transfer window.

There's no doubt United should be looking back on the summer transfer window with some regret.

Although they completely solved their midfield situation by bringing in Carlos Baleba, Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos, there's no doubt they neglected other positions.

Signing a new centre-forward should have been one of the priorities, as it's clear that Carrick doesn't have much faith in Joshua Zirkzee.

Carrick has opted to play Matheus Cunha in a striker role when Sesko hasn't been in the starting eleven, and the Brazilian forward has struggled to lead the line.

Signing a striker to compete with Sesko should have been at the top of their wish list, especially with Sesko struggling with injuries all throughout the summer.
