Hello!

Afternoon, football fans. I'm at the Hill Dickinson for the second time this season; the last time being the 2-2 draw with Man Utd.

Never have I watched two such contrasting halves of football - the first dull as dishwater and the second thrillingly entertaining. Let's see if Everton can put together a complete performance today...

The hosts are still unbeaten in the Premier League, their best start since 2021/22, keeping two clean sheets along that run.

Ipswich, meanwhile, have conceded 10 - but have still collected six points, and are already halfway to the win total they managed last time they were in the top-flight (4).

Very decent start for Gary O'Neil! Intrigued to see what more is to come from one of this season's new boys.

Moyes's upperhand...

Ipswich manager Gary O'Neil has lost all four of his Premier League games against Everton’s David Moyes, his joint most defeats against another manager.

O'Neil is the manager that Moyes has faced most without dropping a point.

What happened midweek?

Both of today's sides were in midweek Carabao Cup action, Everton faring better than Ipswich.

In fairness, Gary O'Neil's side were drawn against Arsenal and were 4-0 down within an hour - but did stage a mini revival of sorts to make the final scoreline much more respectable.

Charly Alcaraz was the hero for Everton, striking late in their victory over Wolves. David Moyes's side have won themselves a meeting with Newcastle in the next round at the end of October.
