Mikel Arteta has shared an update on the injury situation at Arsenal ahead of their Premier League clash with Brighton.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has shared an update on the fitness of his squad ahead of the Premier League clash with Brighton this weekend.

The Gunners continued their 100% start to the campaign with a 2-0 win over Sunderland last weekend, and then progressed into the fourth round of the EFL Cup with a 4-2 win over Ipswich Town, having made wholesale changes to their side.

The north London side will now return to Premier League action for their final game before the extended international break, where they'll face an in-form Seagulls side on the back of their historic 3-2 comeback win over Man Utd at Old Trafford in midweek.

France international William Saliba is yet to feature this season after suffering a back problem during the World Cup, but he is yet to return to training and will still be absent for this game, and will miss the internationals for Zinedine Zidane's side too.

But the boss has also now shared an update on fellow defenders Cristhian Mosquera and Ben White, with both having missed recent games due to injury.

> "[White]All good. We have another training session.

> "Yeah, we have another session, and they [Mosquera] are willing to be part of it, so we will see."

Piero Hincapie and Jurrien Timber were both missing from the midweek clash with Ipswich, but they are now expected to be available, although they could both be on the bench.

White has been a regular in the Arsenal defence so far this season at right-back, with Jurrien Timber having been recovering from an injury he picked up last season.

But the team haven't felt his absence, with White's relationship with Saka helping the forward reach a high level too, and defensively he is more than capable of fulfilling his duties both in and out of possession.

With Timber still not 100% fit, it was important for Arteta to have a natural option in that position that could play against tough opposition. White is in good form, and with him being available, it's a major boost for the team, as it also means Ezri Konsa and Gabriel can maintain their partnership in the middle.
