The Carabao Cup has now reached the last-16 stage as Premier League giants battle it out to win the first major honour of the domestic season

We may only be in the middle of September, but we are quickly approaching the business end of the Carabao Cup.

After the Premier League big-boys entered in round three, the field is now set to be reduced to 16 as the battle for the first domestic honour of the season continues.

Third-round ties have been staggered over the last two midweeks with Chelsea's 6-3 win over Leeds United the highlight of last week's encounters.

Last night saw Liverpool progress after beating Tottenham, and last season's runners up Arsenal book their place in the next round by beating Ipswich.

Manchester United can join them tonight when they face Brighton at Old Trafford, with the draw taking place at the conclusion of that one.
