Friedkin's Ready To Sell: Billionaire Group Plotting Big Everton Takeover Bid

· GiveMeSport

With The Friedkin Group ready to sell, Everton could find themselves in the hands of new ownership courtesy of American candidates.

Weeks after The Friedkin Group announced their decision to put Everton up for sale, the Toffees have attracted interest from a candidate with a net worth of almost £200bn.

Friedkin's announcement came as a shock for many. They only arrived to hand the club some much-needed good news back in December of 2024, but are looking for an out less than two years later.

Releasing a statement, the owners said:

> "When TFG became custodians of Everton, the club faced significant financial uncertainty and challenges both on and off the pitch.

> "The immediate priority was to provide the stability, investment and support needed to secure the club's future, including helping to bring the long-promised stadium to completion for its deserving supporters. With that foundation now safely in place, the time is right to consider the next chapter for Everton."

The hunt has been on for new owners ever since and, if recent reports are anything to go by, then the Toffees could be in luck. Whilst nothing is at an advanced stage, there is certainly interest in taking the club off Friedkin's hands at their request.

As reported by journalist Alan Nixon on his Patreon , American billionaires the Dell family are now considering joining the race to buy Everton.

The Dell family have an impressive net worth and have previously invested in both Sunderland and Crystal Palace through lending company MSD - ticking the box for at least some Premier League know-how. They would arrive with plenty of finances too.

Premier League owners' net worth vs Dell family

- Newcastle United £1.2 trillion - Liverpool £365bn - Michael Dell £195bn - Manchester City £24bn - Manchester United £20bn

It's not the first time that the Dell family has been interested in Everton, either. Prior to Friedkin's takeover, the Americans were ready to back a takeover through two lifelong supporters Andy Bell and George Downing. The bid was serious, but it was Friedkin who completed a takeover.

Now, two years later, the Toffees are in a healthier position and seen as more attractive. As the £1bn race gets underway to complete a takeover, the Dell family could be well placed.

Given that the Arab market is reportedly subdued right now, those in America could be ones to watch now that Friedkin are ready to sell so soon after arriving on Merseyside in what would be a huge boost for David Moyes .

David Moyes is in desperate need of an additional striker in January, and Everton should consider taking their shopping to the Championship.
