Barcelona faced PSG in the Champions League a few days ago and succumbed to their first defeat of the season, losing 4-2 to the reigning European champions.
It was a game marred by injuries, with Ousmane Dembele, Dani Olmo and Marquinhos all picking up issues, but the worst injury was suffered by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
The Georgian winger tore his ACL after going into a 50-50 challenge with Xavi Espart and is now set to be out for a long period of time.
Gavi sends a supportive message to Kvaratskhelia
Speaking to DAZN Futbol , Barcelona midfielder Gavi expressed his admiration for the PSG winger and sent him his best wishes.
“I send him my best wishes. He’ll come back stronger,” Gavi said, offering words of encouragement to the Georgia international.
The Barcelona midfielder then revealed just how highly he rates the winger.
“He’s a player I absolutely love. I’d be very happy if he finished in the top five of the Ballon d’Or. He deserves to be there.”
Gavi’s appreciation for Khvicha shows the camaraderie between professional footballers, even when they play for different clubs.
Kvaratskhelia is known for his close control, unpredictable dribbling and ability to create opportunities from difficult situations.

He had a tremendous season and was arguably PSG’s best player as they defended their Champions League crown, and he will be a huge miss for Luis Enrique.
A show of respect beyond club rivalries
For Barcelona supporters, Gavi’s comments offer another glimpse into the midfielder’s personality.
Known for his intensity and competitive approach, the academy graduate has never been afraid of physical battles on the pitch.
Yet his admiration for Kvaratskhelia shows that such competitiveness does not prevent him from recognising exceptional talent elsewhere.
His Ballon d’Or assessment is also noteworthy given the quality of attacking talent competing for recognition across Europe.
Barcelona star Lamine Yamal is among those considered a favourite for the award , which is set to be handed out on Monday.
A top-five finish would represent a significant achievement for Kvaratskhelia, although his absence from the World Cup could prove to be an issue for him.
Given that Gavi himself has gone through the horror of an ACL injury, his words offer Khvicha optimism for the future.
Everyone hopes that the PSG star makes a full recovery and reaches his best level again for his club and country.
