La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have on Friday unveiled a public message of well wishes for Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany.
This comes after the Belgian sparked concern across the global football landscape earlier in the day. As confirmed in a statement released by Bayern across the club’s social media platforms:
> ‘Vincent Kompany is receiving medical attention. > > ‘This Friday, Vincent Kompany had to receive medical attention after suffering a fainting episode during an FC Bayern Amateur training session. The first-team coach was observing the second-team session. > > ‘Kompany is undergoing a thorough medical evaluation at the hospital, where he will remain under observation. > > ‘Until further notice, his coaching staff will take charge of the first-team training sessions and matches.’
Bayern’s next scheduled fixture on the continent comes in the form of a meeting with the aforementioned Atlético Madrid, early next month.
On Friday evening, those in a position of power at the Metropolitano therefore sent their own message the way of Kompany, as follows:
> ‘We wish you a speedy recovery. We hope to see you here in Madrid, on the bench, in a few days’
