JJ Gabriel has told Man Utd he wants to leave and asks for registration to be cancelled

Promising Manchester United starlet JJ Gabriel has made a huge decision on his future with the Red Devils this week.

The 15-year-old is seen as one of the biggest young talents in English football right now, but expectations that he was going to feature heavily in the squad this year - at least during pre-season - haven't been realised as yet.

Now, in a move that has reportedly shocked the club, 'Kid Messi' has asked to leave United. As per GMS sources, he has requested that his registration in the squad is cancelled.

United are unclear on what has prompted the decision and had planned to include Gabriel in Michael Carrick's first-team squad tomorrow night during their Carabao Cup fixture against Brighton.

The club feel the situation is rectifiable given the time remaining on his registration, which cannot simply be cancelled. But some reports suggest it is due to a breakdown in trust between the family and the club, with his contract reportedly expiring next summer.
