Manchester United fans will be consulted and have the chance to give their view on the club's new stadium as plans continue over a new venue for the club
Manchester United will involve fans in a survey as they get the chance to feedback on the club's plans for a new 100,000-seater stadium, with concept images already being released.
The controversial ‘circus tent’ design is only an impression of what the finished venue could look like and the plans are not set in stone, and could still be influenced by what fans say.
Supporters have been invited to take part in a number of focus groups to discuss key details which could help decide on how the new state-of-the-art stadium takes shape.
The survey will be distributed to season ticket holders, cup season ticket holders, executive members, official members and supporters who have purchased hospitality within the last three years. It will close at 12pm on Friday November 6, reports The Sun.
> Collette Roche, CEO, New Stadium Development, said: “Our proposed new stadium is one of the most significant projects Manchester United will undertake in the next 100 years, and it is vital that we shape it together with our fans.
> “Above all else, this is a football stadium built for them, so getting the details right matters. We are committed to thorough and transparent engagement, ensuring supporters help inform key decisions on atmosphere, affordability, accessibility and the traditions that have made Old Trafford so special for so long.”
> “By working together, we can create a world-class football stadium that supports success on the pitch, reflects the identity of Manchester United, and gives fans a home they can be proud of for generations to come.”
The club have also said there will be further opportunities for fans to provide their views on other major topics, one of those being pricing, which continues to be a hot topic after some controversial decisions taken by Ineos, who have removed concession prices.
Despite the obvious emotional attachment to Old Trafford it is well documented that the stadium, once renowned as one of Europe's best, has fallen well behind the standard set by the modern stadia. That owing to a continued lack of investment, but Ineos have looked to revamp the club's infrastructure, recently presiding over major improvements to the training ground.
