Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Wael Mohya (17) is regarded as one of Germany’s leading talents. Making his Bundesliga debut at 16 years, 11 months and 12 days in December 2025, the attacking-midfielder has since made 24 appearances for the Foals across all competitions, scoring four goals and providing one assist.
Speaking ahead of Gladbach’s game against VfB Stuttgart on Friday night, Alexander Blessin praised the youngster.
> “He’s a very young guy who’s open and laughs, he doesn’t care too much about pressure,” expressed Blessin, who lauded his attacking abilities. “His ability to relieve pressure in one-on-one situations is crucial.”
Blessin, though, wants to prevent responsibility falling on Mohya. “He gives us a carefree attitude which is important, but dumping all the burden on him would be the wrong approach,” he added.
Gladbach travel to Stuttgart on Friday night as they go in search of their first points of the season, having lost each of their six Bundesliga games in 2026/27.
