Antonio Conte's two demands to take Man Utd job emerge after giving green light

Manchester United boss Michael Carrick is under pressure to deliver results and the former Chelsea and Tottenham manager Antonio Conte has been linked with the role
Antonio Conte will make two demands to the Manchester United hierarchy if he is to take over from Michael Carrick. The former Chelsea, Tottenham and Napoli boss has been repeatedly linked with a move to Old Trafford given the club's recent struggles.
Carrick is under increased pressure to deliver results having won just two of their opening 11 games so far this season. The Red Devils boss is set face the music on Friday at his press conference before the clash with Bournemouth this weekend.
As things stand, Carrick is expected to take control of the clash with the Cherries, though reports claim the club have contacted prospective replacements if they decide to part company with the 45-year-old. Reports in Italy claim United have already held talks with Conte about replacing Carrick in the aftermath of the 4-1 defeat to Como in the Champions League.
It's claimed talks with Conte continued on Wednesday night, with the Italian already expressing a desire to United chiefs to return to the Premier League, but had two clear conditions.
Accoring to La Repubblica, Conte has demanded full control over transfer activity, along with the authority to pick his own backroom staff. The report claims Conte wants the final say on how he builds his squad, identifying players who fit his tactical set-up.
It's claimed that United's hierarchy are currently deciding whether or not to accept these demands, with results set to decide whether or not they part company with Carrick. United reportedly have a shortlist of managers drawn up, with Conte among the names on that list, though Jason Wilcox and Christopher Vivell reportedly don't agree on who should replace Carrick.
The latter of the duo is said to favour Julian Nagelsmann, while Wilcox wants a Premier League proven manager, with Eddie Howe, Fabian Hurzeler, Unai Emery and Conte on his shortlist.
The current United boss says he hasn't given his future any thought despite the club's disappointing run of form, and made his feelings clear about the terrible display in Como.
Speaking after the defeat, Carrick said: "Listen, I've not given my own position any thought. [My thoughts are] for the supporters – I was one of them watching that and I wasn't happy at all."
> "It's not about me right now and my feelings in that regard. It's more of as a team and as a football club, what we want to look like, what we should look like.
> "And as I said, the results can come and go at times, but you got to do it in a certain way. And that wasn't it."
