Esteban Lepaul withdrew late on in Stade Rennais’ 4-3 loss to Paris FC with an ankle injury. The France international has not recovered in time to face Juventus in the UEFA Europa League later tonight.
In his absence, Franck Haise is set to start with two strikers. Boulaye Dia is set to partner Moussa Al-Taamari. With Lepaul out, Rennes’ whole shape is expected to change. The Breton club are expected to start with a back three, with former England youth international Charlie Cresswell starting at the heart of it.
Mahamadou Nagida is set to once again start over Quentin Merlin, who has seemingly dropped down the pecking order. Bryan Reynolds, meanwhile, is set to continue at right-back in Turin tonight. Valentin Rongier will captain the French side.
Rennes likely line-up v Juventus
Brice Samba; Mahamadou Nagida, Anthony Rouault, Charlie Cresswell, Abdelhamid Ait Boudlal, Bryan Reynolds; Mahdi Camara, Valentin Rongier, Sébastien Szymanski; Boulaye Dia, Moussa Al-Taamari. (L’Éq)
