That was a fun one, wasn’t it? Bayern Munich romped all over VfB Stuttgart, trouncing the newly promoted side 5-0 at a canter to keep up their status as the Frauen-Bundesliga’s top team. It’s always fun to hand out awards after a match like this.

Jersey Swap: Jana Beuschlein

Stuttgart managed almost nothing all game — no bi g chances, just about hal f an xG, and five shots to Bayern’s 20. Two of those efforts and over half of the team’s xG production came from half-time substitute Jana Beuschlein. Both efforts came in the game’s waning minutes with the result well in hand, but if someone was going to claw back a consolation goal, it was her.

Die Kaiserin: Glódís Perla Viggósdóttir

Bayern’s captain was imperious at the back and central to Bayern’s build-up play as well. She registered two blocked shots, numerous other defensive interventions, and a number of excellently placed long balls fro m the center-back position. Shout-out to right-back Sarah Mattner as well, who put in a credible sh ift in Giulia Gwinn’s absence and registered a splendid assist for the game’s opening goal.

Fußballgöttin: Momoko Tanikawa

Back from the international break and back in central midfield, Tanikawa was able to comfortably pull the strings from a variety of positions thanks t o Bayern constantly being on the front foot. She registered several key passes a nd an inch-perfect assist for Pernille Harder, delivered as she drove into the attacking midfield position and laid it on a platter for Harder to run onto in the box. The Japanese international did not quite have her shooting boots on in this one, but she didn’t need them.

Die Bomberin: Klara Bühl

Bayern’s star winger was, as usual, a menace on her flank. She collected a goal and an assist i n 73 minutes of work before coming off for Sophie Proost, who deserves a mention for an excellent cameo at left wing that also came with an assist of her own. Bühl is consistently too much for defenders to handle and remains a constant threat to do damage whenever she is on the field.

Meisterin of the Match: Pernille Harder

Harder did it all: shooti ng, passing, carrying. Credited with two goals on the day — one of them was probably an own goal to be fair, but it was forced by her run into the box — the Danish international put in an outstanding shift and also assisted Bühl. Bayern is still leaning on Harder for production, and it is great to see her deliver like this.

She might have had her hat-trick, too, but banged her would-we-be third off the post from a narrow angle. Harder remains Bayern’s best threat to make something happen inside the box.
