Bayern’s attack is quite scintillating when it works
Bayern Munich’s attack has looked a bit stunted at times this season, especially compared to the goals that came every game last season. However, Bayern proved that when it w orks, it works. Klara Bühl and Pernille Harder both got goals and assists, with Harde r netting two goals. The rest of the attacking line—Linda Dallmann and Edna Imade—also scored. Even Momoko Tanikawa, who was playing in a deeper role than she normally does due to Bayern’s lack of cover in central midfield, contributed an assist. Bayern fans will be hoping that the team can keep the barrage up as they go deeper into the season and face bigger and better opponents.
Linda Dallmann is in red-hot form
Speaking of Linda Dallmann, the German international is playing some of her best football nowadays. She had already come back from the national team with a goal and an assist, and she hit the ground running with her club as well. Bayern’s No. 10 opened the scoring against Stuttgart with a well-taken header, despit e being the shortest player on the squad. Not only that, but she ran tirelessly as per usual, pulling the strings in attack and sometimes deeper in midfield. Dallmann may be on the wrong side of 30, but she is showing no signs of slowing d own. If anything, she is speeding right up.
Is Edna Imade doing well…?
Last season, Edna I made wa s the ultimate super-sub, coming on and scoring whenever needed. This season, with four goals in the Bundesliga already, her numbers are not too shabby. However, she has also become more prone to missing chances that she really should convert, including against Stuttgart. With Pernille Harder getting on in age and Jovana Damnjanović also declining (not to mention injured), Imade must step up, because Bayern cannot afford to have a misfiring striker if they want to go far in all compet itions.
